Yes, I cheered when Rahul chose Dimpy. And I know that I am airing my views in a forum that has been, for the most part, very critical of Rahul and most - if not all - the contestants of the show. (I am one of those "silent viewers" often referred to) But I also know that divergent views will not be entirely unwelcome..or at least they will be heard.
And so, here goes.
I am genuinely happy for Rahul and Dimpy because they obviously connect with each other, and make a lovely couple, understanding, sensible and fun-loving at the same time.
I don't know either of them personally, but they don't seem as bad as a lot of people in this forum claim they are.. It's interesting, by the way, that, other than a few aleged friends of the contestants, nobody else knows them personally either. And to them, I'd just like to say that I think it is wrong to judge somebody - and judge them so severely - if one knows nothing but what is shown on television. That said, I know a lot of you have been diligently browsing the internet, esp facebook, and substantiate your claims with very impressive evidence. But I think it's high time we start thinking more broadly.
So, Dimpy drinks, smokes and has had several boyfriends!
Okay...
So?
What defines a person is not his habits or lifestyle but his attitude! Dimpy is the only person I know on the show who has never bitched about the others, who has always been open-minded and understanding. If you didn't know about her so-called "awaara" lifestyle, what would your opinion on her have been?
Okay, leave that aside.
She admitted on Day 2 of the swayamvar that she was previously in a relationship. Don't you think she is to be praised for her honesty and courage? Others may be hiding so many things that you dn't know about. But, no, everybody set out to "bash" Dimpy! Who doesn't have a past? And yet not everybody has the integrity to stand by their actions and admit them.
So if you really think smoking etc is morally reprehensible, fine. But at least give some credit to sincerity.
I'm not saying that Dimpy is a saint. She has flaws...but is she thaaat bad? Nobody's perfect, but some people on this forum just don't seem to understand that! So much anger, so much hatred...for what?
Seriously.
I think she is compassionate, genuine and has a clear heart. And frankly I don't care if she drinks, as long as she's a good person.
And wearing skimpy clothes is not a crime, for heavens' sake!
Nikunj apparently has not sinned as much..but honestly, I prefer Dimpy, because Nikunj looks down on others practically all the time. But obviously, to you lot, what a person does is what a person is. So be it.
About Rahul, everybody's preconceived notions and assumptions are so deep-rooted that I don't want to venture and try and present an alternative perspective. Everybody obviously thinks that they're right and would not want to see things otherwise.
But just a few questions..
Doesn't a person have the right to move on in life?
Doesn't a drug addict, ex-wife beater have the right to fall in love?
Can't we forgive?
And seriously who are WE to forgive and judge others?
Can't we just, for a second, consider the possibility that this show was not just a sham?
Can't we be happy for the newly-weds?
Rahul is far from being a saint himself. I do not endorse his actions. Far from that. Beating your wife is really disgusting! But maybe, just maybe, he regrets what he did. Will you continue hating him so, mistrusting everything he does?
In my opinion, he is mature and sensible, broad-minded and honest.. When one compares him to Rakhi Sawant, one clearly sees that he has some intelligence and perceptivity. I don't think anyone can deny that..but then again, who knows what you people will come up with?
On the other hand, he has a very childish side to him (kind of like Dimpy). His antics on Bigg Boss attest to that playfulness. He is also very sensitive..and probably his drug abuse was because he was unable to cope with his father's death.
Many of you, so prompt to criticise others, said that he used his father's death to make himself popular. Maybe so. But maybe, the words he used in both Bigg Boss and RDLJ, described his feelings well, and that's why he used them. Do you guys walk around with a thesaurus, for fear of repeating yourself and seeming like liars and dramebaaz's? And seriously, for somebody whose every mistake has been made into such a big hype, for somebody who is never taken seriously, how wrong is it to try and present your point of view, with the hope of being exonerated from all the hatred? You say he is only trying to gain sympathy. I say, so what? Who doesn't want sympathy? Who wants to be despised all the time?
I am not trying to justify his actions..but hopefully, trying to soften your condemnation of him. People have the right to have flaws, to make mistakes, to be imperfect. But they deserve second chances...and they have the right to be happy too.
I know it is highly, highly likely that Rahul did all this to clear his image and make money. Likewise, the contestants, including Dimpy, also entered for fame and money. I'm not so naive. I know that in all likelihood, this is what happened. Most of the time, the show has been so lame that any idiot could see that it was just a show... All the guests on the show were paid to be there.. and many moments on the show were scripted and very very obviously faked 🤢
But you know what, somewhere in the show, the fakeness and pretences... I feel that genuine love and friendship developped between two people. And I'm very happy that they're married. They complement each other beautifully.
Would you be so obstinate as to stick to your assumptions all the time? To be so acidic in your comments, as to say that he and Dimpy will probably get drunk tonight?
No problem! To each his own...
(Although I still don't understand the hatred.. It's not like Rahul killed anyone, or that Dimpy is running for office.. Even so, no human being deserves so much hatred. Anyway.)
But yeah I've said my bit. No matter what others feel, I want to give Rahul the benefit of doubt. All the very best to Mr and Mrs Mahajan! I mean it from the bottom of my heart 😃
Peace all! Hopefully this would trigger some thought, and the dismantling of some of the narrow-minded prejudices..

You are right. Everybody deserves a second chance and each person deserves to be happy. I really hope that Dimpy and Rahul find that in each other. I hope that they went in to this marriage with their whole heart and not just for fame and money. If that comes along the way, then it's good for them.

It is good to see some one say positive about both of them, we are no one to judge others when we ourselves are not perfect. My prayers would be with both of them diligently....their marriage would last long until their span of life......:)😊

Good to see a positive post amidst all 'they will divorce soon', 'Alcoholics' and 'Dimpy in bikini' topics. They have made their choice of tying the knot in front of the public and starting their life together, so let us not judge their decision with our malevolent minds.

I Wish them a happy married life and also good luck for their future. 😊

Yes, absolutely, they deserve a good life like every humanbeing. We should not curse and wish bad things for them. I hope they are both very happy and prove all the naysayers wrong !
