Part 1
The episode begins with Shastriji telling Mrin, sorry but I do not know what you're talking about. Mrin mocks him and says, well I am a very simple woman speaking very simple Hindi, and you are so learned and wise, how can you not understand me? I just want to know which of your two daughters you want to meet because the truth is that right now Vishaka is right here in PB. Shastriji is shocked and says no, this is impossible. Mrin feigns concern and says, oh so this means things are kept hidden from you as well. Now that you're here, why don't you see for yourself. She calls for Radhika and Susheel comes there and says, badi bahu why are you yelling Radhika's name. Mrin gives him an amused look and he spots Shastriji standing there. Arjun, Dadi, and Vaishali also come into the living room as Susheel is calling choti bahu, come see who is here. Rads come down the stairs and Shastriji asks her what's going on. He's angry and asks, is what Mrin saying true? Is that girl here? Rads is upset and doesn't say anything. Dev walks into the room as Shastriji is demanding an answer from Rads. Vish kanya comes near the stairs and starts coming down slowly but stops mid-way. Shastriji is furious and yells, what is she doing here! How did she get here? Tell me Radhika! Rads is still silent, so Shastriji says, oh I understand. This girl took advantage of your naivetee and innocence and convinced you to bring her to your home! Why have you done this? Why are you so bent on ruining your married life? Everyone except the evil trio look very sad. Shastriji continues: Radhika, did you not care once how your in-laws would feel (cue Dadi and Vaishali's very disturbed expressions) about you bringing this girl here? Why is it that both of you sisters constantly make me drop my head in shame? Dev speaks up and tells Shastriji that it was not Rads but rather he himself who brought Vish kanya to PB. Shastriji is stunned and tells Dev that due to his actions both families are being hurt and insulted. He says, I being this girl's father have disowned her because of her abominable acts, but you? You have brought her here? Why? Have you not figured out by now that this girl betrays those very people who give her respect and care? All she knows how to do is lie and deceive people and she cares only for herself, nobody else. The word family means nothing to her and she deserves no friends or well-wishers. Have you thought about what this girl has done to your family in the past and what she can do now? Have you thought about what you will do when tragedy strikes due to her? Dev is silent, but Rads speaks up and says, Babuji, it would be best if you took Vishaka away from here.
Part 2
Shastriji says to Radhika, I should take her to Vrindavan? Forget my own home, this girl is not even worthy of setting foot within the boundaries of Vrindavan! He reminds everyone that he has done Vish kanya's tarpan and he and Devaki both consider her dead. Vaishali speaks up and agrees with Rads that if Shastriji wants Vish out of PB then he has to take her home with him. She explains: You are this girl's father and therefore you are responsible for her, not my son. It's your duty to take her with you. Shastriji replies that for the sake of my daughter Radhika's happiness I am willing to do anything...even this. Dadi says, did you hear that Vishaka? Vish kanya replies, no, I will not go to Vrindavan with him! (oh my God, this witch has some nerve! š”) She slowly comes down the stairs and says, why should I go to Vrindavan with him? Why should I go back to the home where my parents consider me dead and have done so for so long. Just now my father said that nobody should trust me or befriend me, and I have been kicked out of his home multiple times. Why should I go back there? (Fine, then go live in some ladies' ashram you shameless devil! š”) Vish kanya continues her speech and says, what if tomorrow my father kicks me out again, then what will I do, where will I go? Vaishali tells her that she has no choice but to go home with her father because there is nobody in PB who wants her here. Dev (herein known as Dumbo) speaks up and says, I want her here. Radhika looks disgusted and everyone else looks shocked. Mrin is smiling and enjoying every minute of this tamasha. Dumbo continues and says Vish is correct. She has no other place to go and if something happens to her I will never forgive myself (I'm getting sick to my stomach listening to these pathetic dialogues š¤¢) and I don't care what society says, I think it's best that Vish stay with us. Poor Rads just looks at Dumbo in disbelief.
Shastriji, Dadi, Vaishali, and Vivek look angry and Mrin still has a huge chesire cat grin on her face.
Part 3
Shastriji asks Dumbo what the reason is for his decision to let Vish kanya stay at PB. Dumbo is silent. Rads speaks up and says, Babuji I will tell you the reason why he insists on helping Vishaka. Dumbo shoots his daring wife an angry look and tries to stop her, but she cuts him off and says, please do not interupt me. Please let me tell my father and my family the truth. Radhika tells everyone that Vish kanya was pregnant. The camera freezes on each person's shocked expression one by one. Radhika confidently tells everyone how she and Vish had a fight in Goa and while saving her (Rads), Dev accidently pushed Vish down the stairs resulting in the loss of her baby. She says, he holds himself responsible for the accident, that's why he wants to help Vishaka. He didn't tell you all the truth because he was trying to save Vish's reputation and didn't want anyone to know that she was an unwed mother. Shastriji slaps Vishaka.
Part 4
Shastri screams at Vish, why didn't I strangle you as soon as you were born? This is how you repay my...suddenly he clutches his chest and falls to the ground. Radhika screams, babuji, and suddenly we see that THE WHOLE THING WAS A DREAM! In reality Rads, afraid of what the truth would do to her father, keeps silent. Shastriji continues to ask Dumbo his reason for keeping Vish kanya at PB but he doesn't say anything. Instead, Rads says, babuji, please don't ask questions, just take Vish away from here. Dumbo says, Radhika, I already told you that Vish will stay here. She is my responsibility. He turns to Shastriji and says, taking care of Vish is my duty, please let me fulfill my duty. If my doing this hurts you, I apologize. Dumbo goes upstairs and Vish kanya follows him š”. Slowly the room clears out until it's only Shastriji, Rads, Dadi, and Vaishali. Shastriji folds his hands and tells Dadi, I am not even worthy of asking for your forgiveness. My daughter is a curse on society. Dadi tells him it's not his fault but she is very upset by what transpired and fears that they will have to live like this for the rest of their lives. She says Radhe Radhe and she and Vaishali leave the room. Shastriji turns to Rads and says, what blessing can I give you? I can only pray to the Lord to keep you happy and always a wedded woman. He leaves and Rads looks sad.
Dumbo is in his room getting his night clothes out of the cupboard. Vish kanya comes in and thanks him and he says, for what? The witch has a smile on her face and tells him that she's happy he's standing up for her when nobody else is and that he's on her side. Dumbo wistfully replies, circumstances have made you a part of my life and I cannot turn you away or run away from you myself. I don't know if this is my good fortune or my misfortune, but all I know is that I have to take care of you. Vish kanya is grinning like an idiot. Dumbo repeats, whatever society says I don't care, I will be your support. Now go and take rest, it's very late. Don't worry about anything. The witch tells him to take care of himself as his hand is hurt.
Next scene Dumbo is in his white kurta pajama outside in the garden. Sad music is playing as he sits on the swing. Rads comes there and tells him she knows he's angry with her. He cuts her off and says I never thought you would go against anything I said. I told you why I took the decision to keep Vish at PB. Can't you support me in my decision? Rads sits down next to him and takes his hand in hers. She says, I am always with you. Even a shadow leaves one's body in the dark, but me? I am within you. Whatever decisions you make, I will respect them and go along with them because it's my duty as your wife to do so. All I wanted was that because of your decision you and your family don't get hurt. Dumbo insists that all problems will go away on their own as long as she is with him. Rads puts her head on his shoulder (he is not very receptive or returning any loving gesture) and says, I am always with you, I am your ardhangini. Episode ends.
Precap: Rads is telling Dumbo to take her far away somewhere where he is free from all his obligations and he is simply her Dev and not a man bound by duty.
Rating: 6/10 I was ready to give this episode an 8/10 when I thought Rads was telling everyone the truth. But the creatives tricked us by making the whole thing a dream. The 6 is mainly for Shastriji, Dadi, and Radhika's dialogues. If not for them it would've been a 3.
Performer of the day: Today I will give this title to Rajeev Verma (Shastriji). As a distraught, torn father he was very good. I don't agree that either Shashtriji or Devaki should turn their back on Vish kanya, I think they should bring her home and try to repair all the damage that has been done over several months. They should question what shortcomings may have occured in their upbringing of her and try to fix the problem instead of ignoring her and making Radhika once again responsible for cleaning up the mess. But, I still think Rajeev Verma's acting was good today.
My comments: Well, I am very disappointed with today's episode. I thought we were making some progress when we were shown Rads revealing the truth, but alas, it was only a dream. I am sorry for calling Dev "Dumbo" today, I know many of you are probably upset by that, but today again he was extremely frustrating for me to watch. Why does he not ask himself this question: In Goa when he and Rads accidentally drank alcohol and Rads told him they must repent, his reply was that it was an accident and Kanha knows they didn't drink on purpose so he will forgive them. So why can't that same logic apply now? Vish kanya's fall was an accident and Kanha knows it, so what makes this Dumbo think he has to do so much penance for something that was an accident? Wouldn't Kanha forgive him for what happened? š
Judging by the precap, looks like the Malaysia trip will happen with the witch still living at PB. I wouldn't be surprised if Dumbo insisted on taking her along or if she followed them like a leech again š”.
