Just wanted to add a few things in the convo..
You talked about Heliocentric theory and how it was opressed by dogma.. Well I will talk about Hinduism which is one of the prevalent religions in south east Asia and I will talk about India cauz I am close to both. I don't think that Hinduism even has any dogmas.. from whatever little I researched.. dogmas don't exist in Hinduism but yes cultural beliefs, and many practices do.. There have been beliefs that you can consider orothodox and they are widely condemned in our society and there are also very valuable scriptures in hindusim that consist of treasure of scientific experimentation and a search for internal locus, self discipline.. these scriptures are called vedas. Many great discplines and ideas like "yoga" and others have emerged from them.. and believe it or not these scriptures do not preach or ask you to follow any strict orders or beliefs like yoga.. but they contain a whole lot of self experimentation about our souls and ourselfs and are pretty practical. About Helicentric theory it might have been condemned by dogmas of various religions but the earliest references of this theory were found in Sanskrit.. the very Vedas I was talking about above.. So I personally canno't say that atleast we were responsible for turning that theory down.. cauz I guess vedic texts were the few of the earlier ones to come up with this theory.. And I know you would know more about this theory than me.. cauz you would have studied it.. hehe.. so correct me if I am wrong.. I personally find all the Asian cultures and their beiefs to be enritching.. I don't think that science and experimentation is a new thing.. infact it has been the base for various of hindu texts and scriptures.. like I am sure it was basis for the texts of many religions.. So again I would say that its not only the good bad or the ugly that we get from our culture and beliefs.. we also inheret our existance.. and our whole form of functioning.. the way we are today is thanx to our past.
About Asperger's syndrome.. I searched for various videos on youtube where people with the condition have been kind enough to share their thoughts and views on it.. And there are people with the condition who are married, who have functional lives and they seem to be in capacity to stand up for issues talk about them.. and discuss them.. So the fact that Khan.. stands for his lady love.. and decides to stand up for a cause does not seem very far fetched.. yes peple with Aspergers syndrome do have difficulty in relating emotionally to others.. but they still go on to marry and have normal lives.. I guess it depends on the sevirity of the conditon.. (I know that by seeing these videos I might have arrived at a wrong conclusion.. but I just based that on what I saw in videos and also some online research.).. There is also a guy with Aspergers who says that its in not like rainman.. I don't if he is only the one who think so.. or why he said that but he said that..
And there are many other videos.. where people with condition have shared great value of info.. you guyz should check it out..

Thanks for the videos. But Rainman and MNIK are completely different depictions. Dustin Hoffman played a completely autistic patient and I have actually seen patients like that in the hospitals with the exact same symptoms, so can't fault there.
Asperger's syndrome, as far as my understanding is, is a form of autism, but perhaps not that severe. Obviously, there will be differences.

^^ Just to clarify that.. I am not doubting Rainman.. heck no I can't doubt a popular holly flick.. and I havent seen that movie.. I only talked about it because in the second video the guy discusses about it.. and he sayz it.. and he said that he can handle numbers and stuff.. I am not too sure of what he is saying but I got.. that from him..I guess he is differentiating between Autism and Asperger's syndrome?? maybe.. I guess through these videos I observed that there are various differntiations in the condtion.. and some people with the condition do successfuly lead functional lives and go on to get married and form relationships.. I know that there are whole lot of details that I don't understand.. but I tried my best through these videos.

Thx Adios!!!!!!!
This why I have a feeling that MNIK is a bit more interesting than other movies related to mentally challenged or less intelligent people, because he leads a "normal" life - he has a wife has intimacy with her and watch after her child and even starts a business with her...Even if he has asperger that doesn't prevent him from living a worthy life despite difficulties --- This why I didn't like that much what was conveyed in Black -- y're mute and blind = no sexual life - no feelings - Y're meant to be alone!! Yeah right!!! That was completely rubbish...!!!!!
My little sister has some difficulties but she wants to have a family (hubby and kids)..and I'm sure she will have one when she becomes older...
Asperger includes some traits of autism but it's not autism..
