| How does it feel to be nominated for Best Actress in the 55th Idea Filmfare Awards '09? Are you happy, nervous, scared? Happy, of course! It's just my fourth film and I'm glad people are appreciating my performance. Who do you think is a strong contender for the title, if not you? I think Vidya was very good in Paa. How much does an award matter to you? It's always great to win an award but then again, you never know! It's nice to know that people are appreciating your work. A nomination is the first step and if you go on to win the award then it's an even better feeling which means people have noticed your performance. But, if you don't win, it's fine because there is always a next time. What does a Filmfare Award mean to you? Filmfare Awards always remind me of my childhood when there were hardly any other awards. It's an award show that I have fond memories of since I was a child. So when I won an award for the Best Debut and went on stage to hold the 'Black Lady', which till then I had seen only on TV, it was an amazing feeling. That was a big moment for me. Now, being nominated for a Filmfare Award makes me very happy. Do you have any fond memories of 'Filmfare' awards? The Filmfare Awards night was a family event for us. We would mark the date in the calendar well in advance and made sure that on that day and time, we were all home to watch it. As a family, we always had dinner on the dining table but Filmfare night was the only night when my sister and I were allowed to eat dinner in front of the TV. Not only that but we were also allowed to watch the complete show till late night, sleeping late, because we had school the next day. Have you prepared your winning speech or what are you going to wear for that evening? Not yet. It's too early to think of that! http://movies.indiatimes.com/news-gossip/interviews/actresses/I-stayed-up-late-for-Filmfare-Awards-Deepika-Padukone/articleshow/5593279.cms |
