She so willingly gave her kangan to Sushma to wear on the wedding, didn't think that CM would be there too a might see them?

CM did see them, and she was not impressed, and not only would she be pissed at Sudha now, probably will give her an earful at home, but she also insulted Sushma (telling her to be careful because they're khandaani and old)

I agree that Sudha deserves to be blamed for this, but the primary blame falls on Padma, for 'hinting' @ Sudha to lend these to Sushma. Please tell me that Padma experienced first hand the insult that Sushma was subjected to - that would be poetic justice, not so much to Sushma, who has largely reformed, but to Padma. If anything rained on her parade, this was it.

I do agree that Sudha was stupid to lend it in the first place, but having done that, the tactful thing for her to have done after going home was tell CM that Padma shamed her into lending it. If she asked CM to take her side against Padma, it wouldn't be so bad. Also, to be fair, when she lent it, she didn't think that she'd be allowed to go, much less the Vashisths being invited. So here, the star idiot is Jyoti, not Sudha.

Incidentally, while Deepu, Sudha and Sushma were miserable @ Jyoti being left out, did you notice that yesterday, Padma enjoyed the proceedings thoroughly as though nothing had happened, and blandly dismissed Jyoti's absense as her being busy when asked about it by the Trivedis? Padma was too happy to have Jyoti slave away for Deepu, but when it comes to Jyoti being denied the enjoyment of being there, she's perfectly happy that Jyoti isn't there. I hope CM's presence there spoiled her mood.

Incidentally, was CM the only Vashisth who attended today, other than Sudha & Uday, or were MN&G, and Pankaj & Minal also there? (After the way Minal rudely once had treated Deepu, she at least deserved to be left out, no matter what her relationship w/ Sudha). Also, is Pratik back?

And no, Padma didn't witness it.

The Vashishts came in (CM/MN/Meenal) and Padma tells Sushma to take them to meet Deepu (who is sitting at the mandap)

Meenal gives 2 gifts to Deepu and he gives them to Sushma to hold, who almost drops them. CM tells her to be careful because they're expensive.

Then she sees the kangan on Sushma's hands and comments that it's really great to see that the sisters are so close that they share stuff, but Sushma should be cafeful because they're khandaani.

As for Padma, well KK is pretty pissed at her for lying to Maheshji about Jyoti and keeps mentioning that she should stop lying to people.

Jyoti is like, I've learnt my lesson, and no matter what the situation calls for, the truth is always the best, and she calls Maheshji and tells him the truth, so they go ahead with the wedding (but there's another twist that you have to watch the episode for)

I wish, since you say it, that Sushma did drop it and on top of that, break it - it would have been fun seeing the Vashists humiliated. So Pankaj didn't go?

The twist - the promo showed Sushma calling Jyoti telling her that the Vashists are gone. Since the promo is always different, let me guess. When the Vashists, including Sudha, are about to leave, Sudha calls Jyoti to tell her the coast is clear and she can come, and she does, and is seen by CM. Or else, somehow or the other, CM finds out, and probably takes it out on Sudha, both for lending the kangan, as well as going there despite Jyoti being there.

Also, since Mahesh-ji did promise his side that Jyoti will dance, I'll guess that he agreed to go ahead w/ the wedding only provided that Jyoti agreed to come after the Vashists were gone and dance, and give them company.

Actually the twist is that when the pundit calls a sister for the gath-bandhan, Sushma goes to tie it (not Sudha????) and some lady comments that this wedding is happening all thanks to Jyoti and if she can't make it in time, then they should wait for her (she goes off on this emotional story that her brother sat on the horse for 4 hours untill she could come before his baraat moved forward) how can they go ahead without JYoti?

Padma looks embarassed but tells Sushma to carry on, but Deepu stand up (shocking everyone) and says that this wedding will continue only once Jyoti is here (Jyoti is on the phone and hears this) and everyone is shocked, especially CM

Incidentally, Poonam looks aghast when he stands up and yells to stop. How much more can this poor girl take because of the drama going on between the Sharmas and the Vashishs? First it was the delaying of the wedding, and now this?

Also, Maheshji is pretty understanding when Jyoti tells him the truth, and goes ahead with the wedding, but he doesn't say anything to his wife, tells her that he will explain later, so she still thinks that Jyoti is coming

Pretty eventful episode, lol

And no, np Pankaj, no Gayatri, no Prateek.

Sushma would be Padma's first choice, not even Jyoti, so Sushma would obviously trump Sudha if Jyoti wasn't there.

You've described a great episode - can't wait to watch it and write it in 6 hours. Only thing - if I was Deepu, I would have explicitly mentioned to everybody in this room that the only reason Jyoti wasn't there was the demand by Mrs Bhairavi Vashisth that her absense was a pre-requisite for his other sister Sudha being allowed to come. I'd have made it certain that CM never dares cross the Sharmas again.

I sympathize w/ Poonam - Jyoti owes her one major apology for putting her and her family thru this embarassment.

In another episode, Sudha was in a self-flaggelation mode and wanted to pop pills for marrying Uday, thereby 'forcing' Pankaj to marry 'Uday's' Neelam. This is supposed to show her love and loyalty to Jyoti.

Yet this time, she just quietly allows Jyoti to sacrifice her participation? The day her father and Jyoti visited, the moment CM said that Sudha can't go b'cos Jyoti would be there, Sudha should have perked up and told her father and Jyoti that she wouldn't go, no matter what, since going would mean that Jyoti would have to sit out, making everybody unhappy.

So let me get this straight: Sudha can think of ending her life over a lifelong decision of whether she should or shouldn't have married Uday, but she can't forego the pleasure of one day of being @ Deepu's wedding so that Jyoti can be happy?

I agree. She could have stood up to CM and been like, It's my brother's wedding, and I'm going to go, Jyoti will be there too, if you want to come, then come, if not, then not.

CM would have refused, but Sudha could have pleaded her case ot MN&G and they would have gone.

That way, Jyoti could go, and the Sharma's wouldn't be insulted that no one from Sushma's sasural came

But all she did was stand there and cry

Even now, I hope her, or Deepu, or Uday, someone mentions that Jyoti could not attend her own brother's wedding because of CM and her nonsense (though I really doubt that)

Also, when Pankaj kicked Jyoti out, she yet again, only stood there and cried. She could have reminded him that like previous times, he could have misunderstood Jyoti, or given him an earful about trust, but did she? Nope

Her only bout of strength was when Meenal tried to take JYoti's picture away from her, I though things would change after that, but obviously not

^Ahh... if only Sudha could really be like that. Situations like these really make me miss Devika, who wouldn't think twice before giving CM/Meenal a fitting reply.

Padma was horrible this whole week. She's totally turned back to her old ways of squeezing money out of Jyoti with absolutely no feeling of guilt in her mind. Now since Sudha is 'rich', she's started milking her too. The whole wedding it seemed like she couldn't care less whether or not Jyoti came, it only mattered to her that her son's wedding happened with no problem. Asking Sushma to tie the gath-bandan was really the last straw. Forget Jyoti, but Sudha was standing right there! She really is getting on my nerves, and with Poonam now entering the house, Padma's demands from Jyoti will only increase.
