Neelam is of upper class and therefore, CM can't taunt her for being lower class, etc. That makes a difference in the way that CM treats Neela. As well, with Mrinal's FIL on the side of Neelam's family, they fear that CM being mean to Neelam will reflect on the treatment of Mrinal.
I am concerned that Sudha will be treated badly because she was the cause of Uday not marrying Neelam ... Neelam may take this out on her.
