Part 1
CM tells Pankaj that she'll be embarrassed if he didn't turn up for the engagement. Pankaj then agrees to be there. However, the sounds of Jyoti's anklets continued to distract him. 🤢
In her class, Jyoti continues teaching. Suddenly, Kalpana shows up, and Jyoti asks the students to keep practicing. Kalpana tells her that this reminds her of old times, and Jyoti agrees. She tells Kalpana about her meeting w/ Pankaj, and how she granted him the divorce. Kalpana is surprised, and asks whether he didn't say anything, but Jyoti tells her that both of them have moved on. She asks Kalpana what brought her here, and Kalpana tells her that due to her weight problems, she decided to join the dance class, particularly since Jyoti was now there.
The next scene introduces Pankaj's prospective fiancee' Neelam, who is sitting there, surrounded by jewelry cases. Her mom comes in and asks her why she isn't ready? Neelam tells her that she doesn't want to marry, and yet, she has to deck herself up? As it is, she got stood up by the younger brother, and now they are giving her away to the divorced and blind guy 👏(Good for you, Neelam!!! We were wondering how come you agreed to any of this?) Her mom tells her that it's a matter of honor, and that her father was very concerned about her, and he wasn't well either. If anything happened to him, Neelam would be responsible,😡😡 so to factor that into any decision she takes (like CM, emotional blackmail is her suit as well?) Neelam is shocked to hear this😲😲, as her mom tells her to get ready. 😡😡
Elsewhere, Padma is on the phone w/ Prabha on Deepu/Poonam's marriage plans. Prabha invites Padma to their place for tea to get acquainted and discuss preparations, while their kids are out jewelry shopping. Padma hands it to KK, who talks to her. She tells Sushma & Dadi to be well dressed, since they'll be going to Deepu's saas that evening. Both Dadi & Sushma are very enthusiastic.
In the Vashisth house, the engagement of Pankaj & Neelam is on. Gayatri puts on the bangles on Neelam, and gets flashbacks of when she did the same for Jyoti. Neelam too gives Gayatri a cold stare. In fact, while CM and Minal look happy, Sudha and Uday are just silently watching all this, while Neelam doesn't seem to enjoy it either. 😭😭 They exchange pleasantries, and CM says that since the engagement is complete, they should send Pankaj and Neelam out.
Part 2
Neelam's mom agrees, but Pankaj asks what's the necessity? Both Pankaj & Neelam get up and leave, and Neelam's mom asks CM whether the divorce would take time? CM tells her that Jyoti has signed it already, and that's what they'll show in court. Uday & Sudha are visibly sad, while CM asks Neelam's mom to prepare a date. She then looks coldly @ Sudha. 😡😡 (What does she expect - Sudha to smile while she watches all this?)
At the Trivedis, Padma, Dadi & Sushma are at their place for tea. Mahesh Trivedi suggests the 10th for the wedding, and asks them what they think? He suggests that they consult KK, who is not there due to some illness, but Dadi tells him that she'll agree on his behalf, and he won't override her. Sushma offers Prabha to help, but she declines, saying that as the groom's family, they shouldn't be doing this. She then offers them a tour of the house. She shows them Poonam's room, which is very well furnished and decorated. They are all impressed. Prabha tells them that Poonam's dad is the one who's spoiling her w/ all those amenities, such as an AC, a TV in the bedroom, et al.
Elsewhere, Deepu is taking Poonam out on Jyoti's scooter. She tells him that she asked her father for a 2 wheeler on several occasions, but he was afraid, and while he gave her the keys to the car, he'd not allow a 2 wheeler. She tells him that she's really enjoying this, and Deepu asks her - is it the scooter ride, or him? He tells her to hold on tight, or she'll fall 😆😆 They stop @ a pani-puri stall, and Poonam tells him that her dad doesn't let her eat things from the road, so Deepu offers to go straight to the restaurant. Poonam however tells him that she wants to eat there, and that her dad won't mind since Sandeep has taken her there, so he agrees. As he takes the plate, she takes hold of it as well, and they share some romantic moments w/ the pani-puris. 🤓❤️
Elsewhere, Kalpana asks Jyoti where her scooter is, and Jyoti tells her that she's sent Deepu out on a date w/ it. Kalpana asks her to go to the adda place where they used to go after dance rehearsals. Jyoti hesitates, but Kalpana insists. She agrees, and they go there, reminiscing about old times. Jyoti insists on splitting the bill this time. They go in, and happen to select a place that's just back to back to Pankaj & Neelam. 🤢🤢🤢
Part 3
Kalpana orders a coffee, and Jyoti a Nimbu-pani. Kalpana remembers that due to her pregnancy, Jyoti doesn't want coffee. Jyoti also instructs the waiter not to make it sweet nor include ice, but just plain. Pankaj, who's sitting back towards her on the other side of the screen, overhears her. Neelam, while browsing the menu, notices that he is not happy. A waiter arrives and asks them if they want anything, and Pankaj declines. This instruction Jyoti overhears. Her mood changes, and Kalpana asks her whether she is okay?
Suddenly, Pankaj's spoon accidentally falls, and as he reaches for it, Jyoti pushes it towards him. She is now lost in thought about Pankaj, while her nimbu-pani arrives. However, since both Jyoti & Pankaj are aware of each other's presence, neither is in the mood to eat. So both sides pay their respective bills and get up simultaneously. As Pankaj takes a step forward from his table, he misses the step and is about to fall, but Jyoti stops him from falling just in time. They stand still w/o saying a word to each other. 🤢 (As Don Henley would say, Get over it!!!)

At home, Jyoti gets a call, and answers it. It's Pankaj, but he doesn't say anything - all he's doing is calling her to hear the sound of her voice. (Geez, what a loser, after all that rhetoric about moving on)

First things first - Pankaj is acting like a real loser, who can't live w/ the consequences of his own decision. After demanding and fast-tracking his divorce, he now finds himself unable to move on, and not enjoying the engagement ceremony or anything.
I thought that Uday & Sudha should have asked to be excused from this engagement function, and gone off on their own date. After all, Neelam and Uday have that history, and Uday doesn't at all support this wedding. So why put on that facade? This wedding will happen despite their not liking it, so why force them to be there, and then have CM glare @ Sudha for not looking happy?
First comments on Neelam - I like her, and contrary to what the previous episodes seem to show, she has a mind of her own. She rightly resents being asked to marry the blind divorcee bro of the guy who stood her up. And her mom doesn't have her interests @ heart at all - she has to marry this guy just so that her dad stops worrying? 😡😡 How about the possiblity that she's marrying a guy who doesn't love her, and who she can't love due to the existing baggage? No parent would force their son to marry Jyoti or Sushma, even if they weren't pregnant, but here, Neelam has to marry Pankaj. I feel for Neelam, but where I used to sympathize w/ her family, those sympathies are now gone. And as for Pankaj, unlike Jyoti who looked past the fact that he's blind, Neelam won't, despite this 'izzat' hang-up that her family has. 👏👏👏 (Her family would have done so much better in having her get to know Deepu, but now, I'm rooting for Poonam there)
I liked Poonam's family, by contrast. Not only were they friendly, but they even brought out the warmth in Padma, of all people: hopefully, she'll love Poonam as much as Sushma. Also, this ain't a lower-middle class family like the Sharmas - they seem reasonably well to do, and yet had no hang-ups about the Sharmas (unlike CM). I just hope that Poonam doesn't get too disappointed when she moves into her sasural, despite her dad having pampered her to date. Also, the date scene b/w Deepu & Poonam was sweet - I hope they show a few more of those b4 the wedding.
I just wish the CV's would lose this lame 'co-incidence' of Pankaj & Jyoti being @ the same place @ the same time, and as a result, both their meals being spoilt. Why can't Pankaj take Neelam out to a place that is not near Jyoti's dance class? Aside from that, it was good.
Exit question: Anybody willing to bet that Sandeep & Pankaj will share the same wedding day on the 10th, and some people would be expected to be present at both?
