Delhi, the Rape Capital of India?

Statistically Delhi is the rape capital of India or was since Goa has started to catch up and even suprass it in the past few years
It's after 12 in the Seethi household, a traumatic event has happened and the eldest daughter is nowhere to be found. The head of the household forbids everyone from looking for her because he wants her to face up to her problems? Sometimes the Sunshiners staff are beyond belief. First, no father would be want his daughter to be out alone after 12. Second this is not the way confidence is bult.
To educate oneself on human behavior and psychological problems is necessary to write a convincing and believable story, but the Sunshine team thinks its entire audience has an IQ like themselves (in the negatives), so they spew out anything they can to move their story forward. Simi seeing visions of Anita chasing after her "traumatic experience" and RS abandoing his daughter to build confidence is nothing I have ever encountered.
Simi's trauma was another ridiculous example that comes from the same textbook or doctor who advised them on the Anu storyline. I have never seen or read anything like it before. A woman confesses her love and the taunting leaves her so traumatized she is chased by the words and visions of the taunters that she sees her even in the gundas who are attempting to rape her? Even in the textooks I've not seen read anything like it. Now, if the person is drunk or intoxicated, it is possible to mistake someone. Or, if the person has an already existing mental illness or has been in a war torn situation but even in these cases the trauma has to be very intense. I find Simi's situation incomparable.
The audience, caught up in the meldrama, rhona dona, and the vicious bahu, jora ka gulam and delusional mother/mother-in-law saga, thinks wow, yeh show to bahut suspenseful hai. And result in the TRP ratings go through the roof.
When RS learns that his daughter nearly got raped, instead of acknowledging that he nearly goofed up and put her in that situation, he covers it up by complimenting her on standing up to them. Then he adds that if had approved Simi's love for Abhi, they would not have had the confidence to stand up to him or for their love for each other. Give me a break. That is not how confidence is built. Confidence is buit when you stand up for your daughter against those who are taunting her. I didn't see RS say one word against Anita, his wife, Anuj. Dolly etc. Talk about about a wimp; where's RS' backbone? Did he kick it against the roadside along with his IQ.
Like I said, this show was not written for me in mind.
Like Abhi's confrontation to RS...only thing in the show that had depth. Mili was over dramatic and over the top - I can't figure out if its the charater or the way the actress performed the part. If Abhi continues to cry anymore I am going to have to slap him. He's competing with Simi in trying to outdo her.

What is it with Indian men? They really cry. Doesn't look very confident and in fact weak especially when I don't cry at the drop of hat, and I'm female.
And as for that hospital? Was it abandoned? Didn't look very governmnent like to me - too clean and the staff actually seemed polite. As for the metal rod in the operating theater, is that a new form of anasthesia they're using in India to get back on costs?
This episode sucked - in fact all the episodes this week sucked. I think a bunch of 14 year old kids could have written a better set of episodes.

hi Laila,
the points u noted are very correct, and at times i do feel the same. but then this is just a serail and just for entertainment purpose. so see and forget it.
At times they are reallyshow some weired shots , but after all its just a show and they do require TRPs , otherwise the show wont run.
but to tell u I feel this show is better that the others shows., theres simplicity and originality. which i dont find in other shows.
I feel the creatives r trying their level best to bring the terms to originality and relaity, sometimes its not possible.and every thing has good points and badf points. (so why dont we look only at the good points 😳)

I was waiting to write that about Delhi and its rape statistics ... good you brought it up.

Less said the better about Simi and her mental condition. If she has THAT much of effect on her about Anita and her taunts, I wonder does she really love Abhi or is it just that he is a pagal to love her , what I mean is - Is that really love or Simi is just used to this guy being her ird-gird all the time and doing everything for her?

I was LOL looking at that rod (compared to what I had written she might have had in her hand!) and the way she was hitting the air that too with so much strength !!

Agree to what you wrote about RS and the way he is trying to build courage in her daughter!

Mili was just playing the part for that day !!! LOL BTW, her dialogue delivery was much better than Abhi's a day before when he is telling RS (lecturing) .. that IMO, had no effect either on RS or on me !! LOL

It was kind of weird how all of a sudden people emerged in that hospital corridor, but the corridor that had boxes etc .. that I cannot ignore bcos there are parts in good hospitals where it def looks like they showed .. ok, I am not going to go too much about India and its hospital here .. so, thats all I can tell.

Atleast Abhi's crying in this episode was ok bcos of the hell he was put through by Simi. Actually it is the story writers that need to be blamed for opting this track for bringing them together. Hope no other serial copy from them .. it really sucked big time.

I can't comment on whether Abhi was trying to out do Simi in crying, but I think Neil's acting was really good in thursday's episode.

ok those are just my opinions ....😛

There she comes back with a bang !! Hahah you really brought out your frustration
I also agree RS should have blasted Anita and told her to keep quite and not taunt his daughter

I agree with the fact that RS was telling all that he was asking Simi to be on her own and she would come back herself ..

Pulled from your post
Laila's post

You know what he had to say for that .. If he would have agreed at the Lori fire then it would'nt have shown that Simi stood for herself and proved that her love has won

He also mentioned she fought agaianst soceity and stood up for what she wanted somthing on those lines ..

Maybe it could have been delivered a better way a little more convincing the hospital scene when Simi is dealing with the goons and also her father telling abt how she dealt with it

Laila,

I expected you would write about the way Simi pushes Abhi off when she see's that RS was at the entrance to their hospital room. Looks like either you ignored that fact or you were too angry/frustrated to point that one.

I think I wasn't that frustrated bcos of Shanti's explaination a day before that episode. I thank Shanti BIG time for keeping me sane that day.

The way RS praises his daughter about her love and winning her love, her 'actual push' of Abhi, didn't seem that way to me. Both her look and her push seemed as if once more she was ashamed of loving a guy younger to her and here he was praising her for fighting the society and what not ...

any comments?

But when he was sayong that I was a little confused since did he mean that he tells everyone that Simi fought against the goons to save her izzat and then she was safe.. That sounded off track to me.. But then he must have also meant that Simi fought the society to prove that her love is above all and its true and she can spend her life with Abhi who is a true gem

I feel the writers dii'nt completely convince the viewers or a bunch of us as to why he said that statement after what just happened and Simi landed on a hospital bed

Thats right shanti, that was a two-in-one dialogue which was supposed to mean both ... but for me too, it wasn't convincing as a viewer because she was not really "fighting" with society bcos she ran away from where she was sitting and crying. If she had come back home and stood up and answered back Anita, then it would have meant that to me.

Additionally, for me, she wasn't even "fighting" the goons in the literal sense bcos, just a while back she was not in her senses and thinking that those were Anita (3 images of Anita LOL!!) and I was really terrified when she says - "You will follow me, as long as I run, so, I am not going to run away any more and I am going to stand" [wrong dialogue at a wrong time (it wud have been better if it was when as I mentioned in para1)]. Later she comes to senses and realises they are goons and whatever she did (the fight) anyone in that situation would have done and if she would have not done, then def she would have lost any respect from me.

So, for me it did not look any "heroic" that her dad declares her to be. And what she did doesn't warrant that she did that to fight against her love.

Anyway, I was glad the roller coaster ride ended. It looked as if it was a 'THE END' of a movie, only that this was not a movie and the precap showed there is more to come. "Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost".

Maybe it is an attempt to stop one story and bring in the next one, which is Mili's, very slowly (or not, given our experiences with these creatives). How would they do that to fit in with the current situation is something that I have no clue about.

The problem woth this show is that at times they really go beyond immagination and thinking, but u know as i said they require TRP's also.

Any desi woman, even some confident ones, don't feel comfortable in any kind of intimate pose in front of their parents. Simi is from a very conservative family and even if RS approved, she would never wish for him to see her in this manner. When RS walked in she moved him away for two reasons. First, she wouldn't want to embarass him to see her this way. Second, because he was the man whom her father might not approve off. That scene didn't bother me the slightest. And remember, after RS walked in, so did the entire klan.
