Half Sibling means that you share one parent. As in you either have the same mom or same dad.

Step-Sibling means there is no blood relation between the siblings. So if two people get married and they already have kids from previous marriages/relationships those kids will be each other's step-siblings.

As far as I can tell Shahid is closer to Ishaan than Pankaj Kapur's kids with Supriya Pathak. Solely based on the fact that he tends to talk a lot more about Ishaan than his other siblings in interviews. And yeah Ishaan is quite talented himself and a really sweet kid.
