we often talk how rich the culture, traditions etc of india are or how great our ancestors were, but are we proud to be indian in todays scenario where most of the world consider as just another tribal third world country, and often being criticised for its superstitions, castism etc

If they choose to look at a bad side only and r stuck in the 16th century when they themselves had much worse discriminations then thats their problem now ours. we are what we are. we are self made. we have survived all these centuries by molding ourselves with time when most civilisations died. so y should we be ashamed of ourselves.

I am proud..😎

Every country gets criticized for whatever reasons.. Doesn't mean one should feel ashamed of that criticism..😛..

if the criticizers do have some misconceptions... i'll try to clear their misconception.. if tht doesn't get through to them.. I'd just roll my eyes and walk away..😳

well even i am proud to be indian......but we have nothing to show when it comes to modern times.......even if something bad happens we use "mera bharat mahan" in a very derogatory way

oh really? like what? and if it is so then what have u as a citizen of india (if u r) done to rectify it? just bashing india serves no purpose, if u have the guts to do something about it then talk or dont. y see your country from their eyes? y look for their approval for every small thing? dont u have a mind of your own to think who r being mean to u and who r not. and u know what? its not we indians who use this term "mera bharat mahan" in a derofatory way. but people like u who use it. indians accept what is wrong and try to improve no matter how much others countries try to pull our leg.
this statement is not particularly about u. so dont take it as a personal attack. am quoting u to make my point clear. some people just have a habit of seeing only bad points and making its bigger bigger and bigger and show it to west just in order to get in their good books. 🤢 and to present the drawbacks of other countries also in a good light.

Maam dont get angry while debating.......[and dont say u were not].....i m doing my bit being a denizen of india, dont ask me what as i wont respond to that.just ignoring a reality is not gonna help.

" people like u who use it"..how can u say so?u mindreader or what?
thirdly even i dont like people showing bad points of india to the westerner to get help...but thinking that i will become a dictator and clean up the mess is just day dreaming, remember no plan no execution

alright, I'm very pleased and proud to be called 'indian'. It has progressed really fast in comparison to any other country and is now in the top 20 nation of the world. In another 10 years, I'm sure that I'll see India in the G10 summits and as a temporary member of the UN Security Council. Of course, being Indians, we have to face some harsh realities, such as poverty in our country, uncleanliness and littering, beggars etc.. But hey, every country has problems of the own. We can't go blaming our country for all this. It's because of the circumstances that we were once in that we are what we are. And of course, there's the Taj Mahal. Just so beautiful and calm and peaceful(not anymore, though😆). Saare jahan se accha, Hindustan hamara.

Hey Ashwini,

I don't think India is considered a tribal third world country anymore. At least not where I live. In fact, most ppl. around me always applaud India for progressing so much (in such a little time--all within 50+ yrs from Independence) and in the race b/w China and India, there are many routing for India😉

Our progress is self apparent and although we have many religions and cultures living all in one great country, people have begun to accept us for who we are. Many ask me to tell them about our culture and ask me how we manage to live with so many differences. If anything, I find awe in ppl. speaking about India rather than criticism. But this has just been my experience so far😳.

There is, although, one MAJOR issue for which we tend to get a lot of heat for: OUTSOURCING. Although, my typical response for this is: "it is your own damn fault!"😆

Regardless, I love my country berry-berry much!😳

THANK YOU HORN PLEASE!😆😳
