January 8, 2010 Written Update

The Sharmas bring Jyoti home with them. Jyoti overhears Padma telling Sushma to get out some better sarees from the trunk for her, and tells her that this was the reason that she didn't want to live here… because she knew she wud be treated like a Vashisht bahu than their daughter. She assures them that she's fine in the clothes she used to wear before her marriage. Afterwards Padma tells Deepu to buy some better food for the house, since there's nothing suitable to give Jyoti. Later, KK gives Deepu some money to give to Jyoti for anything she might need. Jyoti hears both conversations and is hurt.

Jyoti is in her room combing her hair when her eye falls on the sindoor box. She reaches towards it, but cannot bring herself to apply it on her forehead. Sushma watches this and tells Jyoti that she can relate to her, but encourages her to not forget their customs simply because her husband cannot remember the promises he made to her. Jyoti is comforted and applies the sindoor.

In the Vashisht house Pankaj's mama (forgot his name, he's the 1 who runs shishumangal) comes there and expresses his great disappointment in their decision of kicking Jyoti out. Bhairavi comes there and tells him that he is actually the only one to be blamed in all of this since he had a hand in getting Jyoti and Pankaj close in the first place. She tells him its best he leaves and he should remember that shishumangal can only run on the money given by the Vashishts. He resigns right there and then and leaves.

Sudha goes to Pankaj with food, and unknowingly addresses him as 'Jijaji'. Pankaj is annoyed and tells her that for her own sake, its best she doesn't come in front of him. Sudha is hurt.
