Hmm...well, like desicrowd said already, each team used at least 4 of the chosen five for the semis...and yes, you do have a point that it would have been nicer to have had all five perform, but the choices the choreographers did make must have had reasons of their own...
Take Karishma from WYs, for instance...she was their fifth player who didn't perform on the semis...but if you watch the promos of the Grand Finale, you'll see that she's doing a solo, a duet with Puneet, and the group routine...three performances back to back are quite a handful, and if it's the finale you're rehearsing for, then well, it has to be your absolute best...maybe that's what they wanted to save her for...might have had something to do with why she didn't perform...and other team-leads could have had similar reasons, who knows...
I do agree that some dancers have outshone others, but then that has to be traced through the entire competition, not just the semis...and in that regard, I think WYs really have relatively been the fairest of the lot when it comes to giving all their dancers opportunities besides just the group routines...
To put it in the simplest, and perhaps crudest, terms as an objective viewer, WYs is the only team wherein I actually remember and recognise the names of all the participants...in each of the other teams, I have to think a lot more to place some names and faces apart from the very obvious ones that shine...which, like you said, is quite unfortunate...
Oh, and as far as DID goes...there was more thrust on individuals there because it was an individual competition at the end of the day...the winner was to be one person...here, the winner will be a team...so yeah, blame it on the format, I suppose, but such is the fate of DPL...
Cheers!
