To date, so far, what Jyoti has done was bad enough, but not criminal. She's covered up a major fact of her life - the number of siblings she has - from her in-laws. But last night was far worse - she lied to the police in order to be on the good books of Pankaj. Initially, Brij was scared of what she might say, but when she denied that Brij was Sushma's husband, I had to throw up my hands.
From now on, it'll be impossible for the Sharmas to throw the police behind Brij, w/o admitting that Jyoti lied to a policeman and obstructed justice, which may even be something warranting jail. As a result, Brij is free to revisit them, and the plainclothes policemen can do nothing, since Jyoti identified that Brij wasn't Sushma's husband. So using the law against Brij seems out of the question, thanks to Jyoti.
Jyoti isn't now merely bad - she's a criminal. Kicking her out of the house ain't enough - she deserves to go to jail. In fact, while I normally find Brij to be a loathesome character, I've actually enjoyed this week's episodes, where he has taken that fight all the way to Jyoti, so that instead of gallavanting to the rescue of Sushma, she can watch her own bacon. I can't wait for the day when Brij exposes her to Pankaj, and everything comes unravelled for her.
I disagree that the show is boring - on the contrary, it's gripping, since every episode, I'm waiting (and rooting) for Jyoti to be exposed.
