Um there needs to be feature on IF where I can deactivate my account and then if I ever feel like activating it again, I can do that easily too, you know? Actually I demand there to be one. With the 1800's technology in place, I can't even delete my account and that's unfair on my part. What is IF trying to prove? That it has X amount of members (which is lies since so many members are not even active anymore on the forum).
Why not get this inspiration from Facebook since it seems like most of the creativity is inspired from there anyways.
Plus with the extensive stalking going on this fan website, it would only make sense to have a delete feature. I am sure it's no rocket sciene. If there's a ban feature, report feature, moderator feature, then I am sure it doesn't take a genius to place a 'delete account' feature.
IF needs to be less stalker friendly.

I think that Vijay is trying to show everyone that this forum is the best because it has a gazillion amount of people who are all nice and friendly and they always get along with each other. (yeah right)

Amen. But I think IF needs to be friendly in the first place in order to be stalker friendly.

So are we getting a "delete account" feature or not? 🤔

Hi All,

Well I just gone through all the posts on this thread and somewhere we would like work on this.

a) Members who would like to deactivate their account so that they do not get any PMs / Scraps or any other requests and also their status shows "Deactive".

b) Deletion of accounts is not a feasible solution as the current Forum structure is such that it will affect other members posts too. Suppose Mr.X has created 5000 posts and out of which he has started around 1000 topics.

Now on these 5000 posts there may be over 40,000+ responses and the Topics started by Mr.X would have around lets say 10,000 (assuming 10 replies per Topic by other members).

Now if we delete the first post itself or make it hidden the whole Topic becomes irrelevant when I cant figure out what the topic was about and what others have replied to. Further making the whole Topic unusable.

So possible solution that the member who wants to remove certain posts can simply edit that post and remove the detail they do not want others to see.

So after understanding the above problem if you all can come up with some suggestion which can help us improve India-Forums.com then we are willing to work on them.

Inorder to tighten our site Privacy even further even the Dev Team doesnt have access to User's Email information.

Regards,
Vijay
