Hmm.. I don't think that it was the lack of internet connectivity which made Aamir so sacrosanct in public opinion. People here have lengthy discussions on Amitabh-Rekha affair (which is like 30 year old news) or Akshay-Shilpa episodes. Boney Kapoor gets slammed all the time over here and his marriage with Sridevi is 10 years old. No, I definitely think that people, for whatever reasons, are loathe to discuss Aamir's questionable actions.
It could also be that he is not exactly in-your-face and probably to do with his personality. He is only in the news when his movies are coming otherwise, he keeps a good distance away.
Saif and Shahid are both too much in-your-face all the time and are constantly in the news for their affairs/dates, etc. It has to do a lot with media image as well.
Aamir does not come across as someone pretentious, while Shahid and Saif, on the other hand don't exactly have the best image with their countless affairs, etc.
Although, cheating on your wife is just wrong, no matter who is concerned, in case of both Saif and Aamir.
