first of all we dont even know what decision Raj has taken already.......... (of keeping up with priyanka or leaving her)............ but IN CASE he decides to stay with Priyanka.......
respect doesnt come just by not marrying the person your parents dont want you to............. and if a guy has started something with a girl, he better fulfill it........ otherwise he would be a gutless man........... my father in law told my husband (we were dating at that time)........ you both have been together......... you will have to marry her, asi kise di kudi de naal khed nahi khedni...." I think just like this parents need to be understanding too.... if he finds a perfect life partner in Priyanka, then its priynaka and his dad needs to give them time and their space.............
I grew up partially in India and partially here...... I was 16 when I came to the US, I studied here, I am a professional, and even though my father is an educated and professional man in the US...... there was no way that he would be actually telling me that I can not marry my husband (now) without meeting him and knowing him better............... but my dad is very understanding and left this decision on me....... and to be honest, he only met my husband once before we were married (that was on our roka) and he talked to him once over the phone (for 5 minutes)..........they are very happy with my choice, his parents are very happy with his choice.... i think my father in law is closer to me than he is to my husband........ so parents do need to start trusting their grown up kids.......... I understand that kids can make wrong decisions, but they are not always wrong and a 26 years old boy is not a kid anymore........... they need to be given their space.......
