Hi,
I've just joined this forum & i must say that it's one of the best among the lot. I've followed BV since day 1& I've been following the discussions here for the past 4-5 months. Now that BV has completed it's 15 months today and almost everybody seems to agree here that storyline has gone downhill since Pratap's death (Although it's picking up now). So, i thought, why not divide the storyline till now in two parts (before & after Pratap's death) & pick up one character that stood out. Also we can include our favourite scenes from the show.
So, the story traces the journey of Anandi, but the beauty of this show is that even the side tracks of Gehna, Sugna & Phooli ( earlier Champa & Rani) are all so integral to the story. My favourite character from the show is Sugna, i know not many people will agree with my choice. Vibha is portraying the character brilliantly. She has eyes so beatuiful that one doesn't need to look beyond that, they simply speaks volume. She has expressed all the shades of sugna's character beautifully.
I think Sugna's one character that has evolved tremendously. From a carefree young bubbly girl waiting for her Gauna to a widow who has to remarry against her choice just to give legitimacy to her unborn child, the character has seen it all. Also, i like the way she bonds with all those around her, like she was equally loving and caring to both Jagya & Anandi. Rather she was at times partial to her kiddo Bhabhi. Though Pratap's death had brought drastic change in the character, but that was not unusual given the amount of trauma she had to go through.
But one thing i've to admit that I never liked Pratap😲 . That character had no substance, all he had to do was to secretely meet her. I always thought, that the kind of character that Sugna is, she deserved someone better. And THANKS to the CREATIVES, they brought the BEST(VIKRANT MASSEY)😆. Though their track moved too fast early on till their wedding, but i simply love the on- screen chemistry that sugna and shyam (VIKRANT & VIBHA) share. They surely make a cute couple.
As for my favourite scene from the show, there are so many like from initial episodes Anandi- Jagya weddding sequence, Sugna mixing Vrat katha with Newton's law while explaining it to anandi, anandi- jagya fights, Gehna's rebel against Maasa, Gehna confronting shyam, MS and Shyam's confrontation, the dream sequence of Shyam on their wedding night, Shyam's scenes with Anandi & Jagya at Market, Anandi's Parting scene when Jagya follows the bus, the list is endless.
