I watch this program very avidly and since i live in USA i saw the show today with all the commotion. Let us take a step back and without emotions try and rationalize what happened. I am not a supporter of any participant and dont favour one over the other. It watched in disbelief what happened on that show. I just wanted to comment on a few things.
If we play any game like in any sport a player cannot midway say they dont like the rules of the game. If they choose to do so they forfeit. This is a game to with some pre-defined rules. You play the game within the boundary of those rules. If somebody got extra votes from a certain region then as long as it is within the defined rules it is ok.
Every state in India is important. There is a reason why people speak different languages and there is a reason why there are states in first place. Every state is unique and different and equally important. We don't need to get nationalistic on even small miniscule issue like voting on a TV show.
Networks should try and get away from such cheap publicity and stunts. They might get ratings but the show as such looses respect. As audiences we should shy away from networks and shows which play on emotions and dervive such thrills.
Last but not the least this is a singing talent show. The only thing that should matter is how a person sings rather than their love life or their parents or whatever emotional thing there is in this world or whatever is wrong in their lives. News flash maximum people have problems in this world. Let the contenstants bring emotions out of people from their singing rather than stories. One more reason that there is so much voting on regional basis is because the show keeps stressing the fact as to where the participant is from and how much each region voted for them even though it is peoples prerogative from any region to vote for whoever they want and how many times they want.
How about having a show which is just about singing and the audience is pretty mature so how about showing us some respect by not going for cheap thrills and ratings.
