Filmfare Debut awards 2008 - Why Imran and Farhan?

I was actually pondering on this for quite some time.

Why was it that Imran and Farhan BOTH were honored with the FF debut awards and yet both Sonam and Deepika did not?

Now for Almighty sake, please don't make this into a fight thread. If it DOES turn into one, I will be MORE than happy if the mods close it.

Anyways, in my opinion, Farhan was better than Imran in regards to their debut films. But if in that case, BOTH were given awards, then I don't see any reason why both Sonam and Deepika were not given awards just the year before that in 2007.

Just goes on to show how double standards are splashed on our faces, and ofcourse we can't do anything but wonder!

i didnn understand that like asin played the same character twice so wat if the language was changed and anushka didnn get any credit at all wen she had one of the most pivotal roles of the year and she didnn get any recogniztion for it they cudve made em share as well

I would not have minded if Prateik had won either. Farhan and Prateik were brilliant according to me.

Imran Khan is Aamir Khan's nephew?

Farhan, Imran, and Prateik all got a special thing.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that Imran was hosting the show too. Most awards are about making sure that the "important" people don't feel left out.

That is why you have a new award made up each year to accommodate people. Last year IIFA had the best actor/actress awards, and then another won for best acting male/female. The former went to SRK and Kareena and the latter to Abhishek and Aishwarya. I think we all know why that happened.

farhan and imran were both praised by the critcs, media and from the public for their roles. and both the movies were box office hits as well

whereas sonam's movie saawriya was one of the biggest flops of 2007, her performance wasn't praised from the critics (well most that i have seen on tv, newpapers and articles) but she was praised by the public which is not enough and thats why she didn't get the award

There should be an award given to the fakeness of these awards.. These are not awards.. these are just rewards to people who could make it to the stupid venue and tolerate all the unncessary gana bajana the silly performances and the over the top jokes..A special award should be give to the person who atteneded the award show.. and stayed and watched the whole damn thing.. Now I have seen that stars dont even stay throughout the whole event.. I remember Srk in this year's filmfare he just stayed there for 10 minutes and they made his video of those 10 minutes.. and kept on showing it throught the 3 hour long event.. Srk had same expression when Pri won.. or when Jodha akhbar won.. These awards are truely hillarious.
