First of all, I'm hating all the reports that calling both films, flops. How can anyone tell if a movie will flop in just a day? Friday and Sat were Ramadan days, so obviously not many people will go out to watch the movies. Wanted and DBH will only pick up on Sunday and Monday. Monday is a national holiday in India because of Eid. I dont know about Wanted's budget, but DBH's budget is 20 crores, so it will def recover costs soon.

Dil Bole Hadippa and Wanted have both given good to decent collections after the dull weeks ever since the relase of Kaminey and Life Partner in mid August.

Wanted has managed a good 5.75 crore nett approx on its first day. The film performed extremely well in some circuits but the bigger circuits dominated by multiplexes like Mumbai, Delhi/UP (UP very good, Delhi average) and East Punjab were average to above average. Bihar and CP Berar were humungous and the first day figures were second only to Ghajini.

Dil Bole Hadippa also managed decent collections of just under 3.75 crore nett on its first day. Dil Hadippa performed best in the multiplexes of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Chandigarh and Ludhiana. The film underperformed in smaller circuits like Bihar, CP Berar and CI.

Monday being a holiday both films should have healthy first week totals and should recover costs with business from Wedneday onwards determining whether they can emerge major successes. Dil Boile Hadippa has an added advantage as it is fairly low cost.

Riya, who called them flops? There are just some select people who are opening topics with false information from dubious sites like IBOS.LOL
Now,it's Ramzan in India and also Durga Festival preparations,so most people will flock the theatres only on Eid and afterwards. So ....many die-hard Salman fans have not yet watched Wanted coz of Ramzan.
All the recent solo release big hits , have had an opening day collection of approximately 7 crore so Wanted -5.75 Crore n DBH-3.75 Crore have made good money on first day considering that they are competing against each other,Wanted's an A rated movie and Ramzan is still on.

Thanks, Rhea. I was pulling out my hair after reading that fake IBOS report. For some reason, I think there is a lot of negativity surrounding both movies. The media is already coming up with their verdict. Either some critics are trashing them or some BO report. I keep telling everyone that collections will only pick up when Eid comes around! So far, I think the audience have liked both the films. Thats what matters right? If people like the movies, then they should work. I'm just not liking these negative reports.

Did you know about this? From Omar Qureshi's FB wall.

Sagar Jaggi- when i came out after watchin hadippa, 1 news reporter came 2 me n asked 4 d verdict n i gave my views that it was awesome but they refused to record my verdict n asked me 2 say that it was just ok n not gud....wat d hell?? hadipppaaaa rocksss....luv u rani.

i agree with both of rhea's here like honestly it's still ramazan people don't go to watch movies in ramazan tomm is eid tomm and monday will be the movie days not yesterday or today duh these reporters
i think both movies collecting this much on first day itself despite ramazan shows that people want to see these films and are good films

That's shocking Riya.
But all in all the electronic media has been pretty good to both the films. The audience reaction they show has been superb!!!
And why are we shredding apart the first days collection? What's important for a film is how it fares after the first weekend. So many films have bumper openings but crash down afterwards like -KI ,Salaam E ishq..etc etc..
And there are other movies like Rab Ne Bana Di...and Taare Zameen Par which had a slow start at the BO but picked up later...
Wanted n DBH have had Good openings.Let the haters say what they want and let 'em enjoy.Real picture will come out soon!

I hope you both are right! I'm paranoid right now about DBH's fate at the box office - i think Wanted will do just fine, Salman has a MASSIVEEE fan pull so once Ramadan ends, i'm sure it'll pick up! =)

Avataar screens will be reduced and will go to Kartik's film but seems like Dhurandhar will keep atleast 50% screens even in its 4th weekend...
