Should there be quotas in Bollywood?
All the male actors are called Khan and are ethnic Pathans, or they are even called Abraham. There are are no Hindi/Punjabi actors that some people can relate to and this is unfair discrimination for the preference of the viewer who may want a positive role model...

Yeah why not, har cheez pe quota laga do. But first we need to set a quota on the number of good movies vs. bad movies in bollywood.

Why is it that your role model has to be someone of your region? I think SRK is the greatest role model. Let the brightness of his aura blind you. Who wouldn't be taken back by that charming smile anyways?

Sure if the personality and character is glorifying enough, then what's in a region? If people decided role models based upon race/ethnicity and regionalism, some of the greatest historical figures would not be remembered and cherished by so many.

If there's a Punjabi or "Hindi" as you call them, actor that needs to come into Bollywood, its because he's talented and deserves it, rather than because you need a role model. Plus, why come to Bollywood then? Why not just watch the regional movies?

How many Pathans live in India to warrant an excessive over representation and disproportionate figure in comnparison to the current demographics?

How old are you? It's common knowledge that all the khans etc. have connections, not because they are well trained. It is actually the well trained that cannot get in because of discrimination and nepotism by a particular group.
