Archana VS Manav's 'Standards'..

Archana's family lives in the railway quarters, while manav's family lives in a chawl. So there are differences not only in the conditions of living but also in the mindset and behavior of people. Savita sits outside at the common tap for water everyday. They hv no bai for work. Basically they do not have very good facilities. Where clothes are concerned, all of them dress decently in pretty much the same way, but Vandita and Savita are comparatively simple and do wear as many jewels as sulochana's family. Plus if you have noticed, Manav has only 3-4 shirts. (he is a little partial to the yellow one 😆 he wears it too much and black shirts in front of Archana.)

I found Manav's house also toooooooooooooooooooo well equipped compared to a mechanic's house! It's got a proper kitchen,dining tables n chairs..... a comfy place to sit with cushions.....actually it looks like Archana's house a lottttttttttttttttttt.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm beginning to think that you are actually right in a sense. Earlier I thought the show was showing Manav to be poor enough, because it looked like he had a one room home with a small kitchen. In today's episode it looked almost like a different set! Now Manav has a relatively large kitchen, two large bedrooms, and a running tap in the kitchen. Also, the whole house is furnished quite well. At this point, except for the difference in neighborhoods, Archana's and Manav's homes aren't very different. They both have a combined living/dining, large kitchen, two bedrooms, and full furniture; Manav just lacks an entry hall. The only things that really remain different are things like lifestyle, location, and income, which still set a sufficient barrier I guess.

Plus we must not forget that this is not their own house, has been given to them by Manav's kaka, was shown in one of the earlier episodes.

i do remember once Manav's mom telling that one chat they have only becoz of her brother-in law (ie Manavs kaka). That means they are not paying rent for the house and its own. I dont have any idea chawl means what exactly and if any one can owns a house in chawls.

Manav said that with great difficulty he earns 12k per months and every thing will be spend for house expenses. middle class people spending 12k per month without paying rent will have better standard of living with compare to people paying rent. always rent contribute a huge expense in monthly buget. So they have got good decorated their house.
