@ Anjana.....first of all thr is no regulatory agencies for television here in India..nd Censor board is only for feature films..documentaries nd commercials..they dont look at Tv shws at all..so basically its only wit the script writer or channel or production house..thr is big controversy goin on ovr this issue in India rite nw..nd it reached parliament too due to sme TV soaps nd sme Reality shws..well its true..thr r shws having bad languages ....nd regarding the standard of a shw...its only set by the production hse nt any independent agencies...

Well i hope that by foul language evryone can identify wat the moderators r tryin to say..nd its only in our hands....Well past is past why cant we look for a future..why cant we say tat..Atleast in future we will not use any foul language against any character or actor at all..We cannot say tat we will only stand by the words tat r using in the shw..and i guess moderators hav the freedom to moderate tis forum nd they only said like we can raise our dislikeness by using proper good words....d not like we cannot raise our dislikeness ...to be frank its time to stop this debate..

1. Discussion is the hallmark of democracy. It is through discourse that we can grasp others points of view and help them understand our points of view. And is not a "discussion" forum at the end of day supposed to do just that? Get us to discuss?😆😆

2. Engaging in discussion also enables us to learn - and I have learned loads of things from this discussion (1. The meaning of a whole host of hindi words 2. IF's current? terms of use 3. How Baba Black Sheep - a nursery rhymne can be perceived as offensive 4. India's Censor Board does not regulate shows)

3. Just so there is no doubt. I have the upmost respect for our moderators. Shifali is Awesome. 👏

4. I don't use the language at issue here (except the "K" word for K.S. and I have plenty of substitutes like Arsonist, sadist, etc.) nor did i read the Baba Blacksheep thread or read the HP picture thread. So, why am i so "passionate" about this issue? Because I believe in Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression - values we should all appreciate.😊

5. That is not to say that IF does not have the right to curb poster's rights to free expression/speech to the extent it is offensive. IF has that right.👍🏼

6. I just want it to be crsytal clear for everyone what is classified as "offensive" going forward - because the words at issue are ones used by the show and as such are not objectively offensive, but could be subjectively offensive to some. Since we are not all on the same "subjective" standard - some pple using show's standard while others have a higher standard in mind, the words need to be Listed. Such a list would make the mods job easier and at the same time give posters certainty 😊

7. Sarah - kudos to you for expressing your opinion too and for teaching me this weekend.👏

well that waz just a pic..i didnt found that pic radicilous or anything..some people posts pics of acctress who are half naked..isnt that the same thing?..we dunt say anything to them..why?

well that waz just a emo..i found it funny..ab kya aur bhi naya rule hai kay hum hasn nahi sakta?hasna bhi mana hai kya?

well this waz just a pic..not a whole scene or anythingg..kids watch dramas too..and i am sure there are some scenes kids shouldnt be watching but they do..i dunt think this pic waz bad then those scenes and dialogues we see and hear..

I've enjoyed reading this thread...😆 but I agree with Zunni, there was nothing wrong with that pic, all of us found it hilarious...
And if we can post Karan's pics back from his modelling days...(or whatever it was😕) if we can post videos and pics of Kritika from Yahaan ke hum Sikandar, why can't we post Virendraji's pics/ videos from other serials/movies??
all of us admire his acting skills...but a little fun should be allowed...

We log in to India-forums after a hectic day at work/ home/ school wherever...we talk about our favorite shows, actors, characters...we might have indulged in bashing a couple of times...but I've never seen it getting out of hand or crummy...

To parents out here: I'd rather let my kid read the A & K words on IF then let them watch the show we discuss here...reason, go back and watch the epi's where KS said over and over again that he wanted to ''show Arohi her place...spend a night with her'' etc., would you want your 5/ 10 year old kid to see an older person (an actor who's bound to be admired) say that and learn that's the way to treat girls? He might grow up to be a womanizer or a sadist 😆... you'll tell me I'm silly cos I'm saying this...and you'll say you believe in the sanskaars you're giving to your kids...I'll say very good...if TV can't belittle your sanskaars, IF can't do it too...

Appreciate the freedom of speech allowed here, Shifali and the others could've just closed the topic but they're allowing us to go on & on & on...thanks for bearing with us guys...

I agree with us KMHians who believe that there shud b freedom of speech.. i have found KMHians most modest people here at IF n havent found regular KMHians using any sort of "obscene" language... its obvious that they might use some "rude" remarks for some characters that r actually acting villain in serial.. but they r never "crude".. so mods here need to define a fine line betn these 2 if they want to impose a rule.. as far as i know except for one or two KMHians, i have never found anything so objectionable that mods needed to intervene (or v needed to report) with any of KMHians remarks.. if u just look at how v have criticized n overlook how v praised the same characters then i think its injustice...if u cant express ur feelings or cant have fun with blogging, then y to blog at IF.. v all loved IF blog, coz it gave us that freedom.. the success of IF lies in the fact that it provides a good platform for freedom of speech n expressions to young bloggers in a much better n proper way and most of ppl here respect each other's views (except a few of course).. i think if u vote, majority of us wud agree that they r comfortable with wat is written here at KMH blog.. so i think it must be noted that banning "character bashing" wud b a big blow to IF blog fans..

Interestingly for the k___________ word, v have a film released this week, n it is already claimed as ""hit" or may be can ever turn out to be a "superhit" 😆 😆 😆 .. now how can ppl refer this film here without using the k__________ word..😆 😆.. if the character itself proclaims himself to be k_________ i dont think so that shud b a big issue... it wud hurt some Hiten Tejwani die hard fans.. but then those fans must realize that v r also big Hiten Tejwanis fan n v r not bashing HT but the character KS..

regarding HP's a_____ word, its the word that wud clearly define wat shud b in this side of line n wat on the other..😆 .. its most "bhadr" word to "exactly mean" wat it defines in so called "obscene" word list...

Hope u wud consider our points while reforming or imposing certain rules..

I my self laugh lots whn I read such comments. I don't understand one dhing..

some of dhm said we r die hard fans ....good not bed.. could u plz explain R U die hard for whom is it Actor or character ?

If it's actor & somebody bash him/her dhn ur objection should be vaild....BUT IF it's for character dhn wat's rong in it... IF some one is villan dhn accept him/her as dhy r... be a sportsman! on d contrary dhr fans should be proud for dhm becoz of dhm we can watch dhis soaps otherwise if everydhing is ok from d day one dhn any soap gonna end on same day whn it started ! 😆

D simple dhing is plz spare ur personal feeling while watching BT drama...who is always famous for controversy & @ d end it's like garbag whr dhr is no head no tail....🤢

If u r over 16 , u know wat's REEL & wat is REAL.. if u under 16 dhn wat should I say.... "bete so jaa waran gaabar sing aa jaygaa..." 😆 😉

D moral of my post is *ahem*...Enjoy d show d way character enjoy dhmselves.. if dhy prouldy produce dhmselves with such zovic words dhn we hav to understand dhr feelings too..........................is it rong?😳

Hi Shifali and other moderators,

I appreciate your concerns but I find it difficult to digest this because a) we are not bashing the actors

b) The K word is commonly used in all films and shows and when a character is negative, is it really right to praise them? This does not mean that the actor is bad. Infact, we always praise the actors as to how well they portray the negative shades in their role. I appreciate that kids also come on this forum but they come on their own terms and lets face it, its not like they havent heard these words before...and its all in good faith. People come on this forum because they enjoy what they read and because they are passionate about the character.

My only request to you, like Anu and Anjana is that can you please make an official list of what words are "offensive".

We have never intentionally bashed any actors in our posts but always the character and this is because of how the character is portrayed.

People choose with their own will to come on the forum, hence, if they dont like what they read then I feel that its their own will to stop reading.

A forum is there so one can express their views. Yes, there are rules and abusive language should not be used but if a character is negative then how do you portray that positively?

We all respect and love the actors in KMH otherwise none of us would be on this forum but the point of the forum is also freedom of speech and we cant force ourselves to like a character, esp when the creatives have portrayed them as negative.

Anyways, I would appreciate it if you can post a link on what words not to use so we all know going foward.

Respect your views , but seriously , how can one be involved in the story without being passionate about the characters, you will either like or dislike a character and you will express your like or dislike ...now if we use terms that are anyways being used on the show itself ..how does that cross boundaries?? ... The kids on the forum here are anyways watching the show and watching all the terms , innuendos being dished out , so either they should not be watching the show in the first place or else we have to deem them mature enough to handle critiques of characters .

and I am sure Virendra Saxena is too veteran and too mature an artist to equate himslef with a Character he is playing . He knows that the brickbats are meant for HP and not him.

A villian's biggest success is if he ensures everyone hates him , and like it or not at the moment Principal HP's character is definitely negative. So I am sure Virendra Saxena the actor must be revelling in his success.

All of us KMhians are responsible enough too know the difference between the character and the actor . We know our boundaries and follow them .

I believe through your new rules you would be curtailing the discussion so much that probably it will no longer mirror the real feelings of the viewer.

Surely this is an age of political correctness , but probably we are going a bit too far if we extend it to fictional characters too.

Actor Bashing was , is and always should be a big no - no but ban on character bashing .. you are killing the spirit of IF .

Those were my two cents ....

@Buddies: After a series of talks with the moderators ,we have come to a conclusion that the words should be used in-context and shouldn't go overboard with the usage. I haven't seen anyone at Adda using the words out of context or going overboard, so all the posters at Adda , not to worry , pls do continue the good work and Do thank the moderators for being so patient and answering my questions in the background.

@Shifali :Thanks for re-opening the thread at my request and hearing out ppl's opinion. Whatever To-Fro happened with this Character bashing ,was just because of the difference of opinion, I always respected u and will always continue to do so😊.

@Shruti : Thanks for being so patient and answering my queries thru PM😊.

I hope this should put an end to this discussion , anyways its KMH time in couple of hours so lets get back to the KMH mood 😊.
