-Recap-
Sudha realizes something is wrong and locks herself in her room at night. Sushma decides to go job hunting and lands a job, but her boss turns out to be Thakkar.
-Thakkar's Office-
Sushma looks scared while Thakkar smirks at her creepily. She has flashbacks of their night together. Thakkar says that she's stupid because she agreed to Rs. 4000. He says that if she does 'overtime' daily, then she'll get Rs. 6000 every day. He also gives her some money as advance, and tells her to sign her appointment letter.
Sushma hesitates before signing, but remembers Brij's 'illness' and her need for money and signs. Thakkar welcomes her to the company and Sushma looks like she's about to cry. [That's what happens to little girls who run away from home with guys who use them]
-Shishu Mangal-
Sandeep is angry that Jyoti is still going through all this trouble just to help out Sushma, who insults her at every occasion. Sandeep tries to talk her out of giving away her Provident Fund money to Sushma, but Jyoti says that her sister needs her. Jyoti says that just to give Sushma a head start; she must meet Shivani and return her money. Sandeep is awed by her selflessness. Jyoti asks him for Shivani's address and Sandeep says that he'll let her know once he finds her address. Jyoti makes him promise that he won't tell anyone about her paysing Shivani back with her PF. Also reminds Deepu to tell the family never to mention Sushma in front of Pankaj. Sandeep leaves and Jyoti is troubled.
-Brij-Sushma House-
Brij gets into bed, pretending to be sick for when Sushma gets home. Brij asks Sushma about her day and she tells him that she got a job. Brij mentally rejoices that Sushma agreed for Thakkar's job. Brij says that they need to celebrate, but Sushma denies saying she doesn't feel like it. Brij goes a step further and says that they should celebrate now because he may not get a chance after this.
Brij pretends to be weak, but still tries to get up to get some sweets for them. Sushma tells him to rest and says that if he really wants, she'll go out and get some sweets, and leaves. Brij is really happy and says that with marrying Jyoti, he would've gotten the support of a measly Rs. 6000 salary, but if he can handle Sushma right, then he will have saved up enough money for the rest of his life in just a few years. He is really proud of himself. [I'm not normally a violent person, but I just want to punch his face every time I see this guy's creepy smirk]
Brij calls Thakkar and thanks him for giving Sushma a job. He asks about her salary and Thakkar assures Brij that he will keep getting his commission. Brij says that by returning Jyoti's Rs. 50 000, Sushma opened thousands of doors for herself.
-Vashisht House-
Jyoti gets home and Choti maa hurriedly tells her to get ready because they need to go to a Women's Organization party, where she wants to introduce Jyoti to everyone. Jyoti is hesitant and Choti maa explains that she is the new Vashisht bahu, everyone wants to see her and meet her. [I love choti maa. She is so practical. Not ovely sweet, and not overly spicy. Just right]
Choti maa also asks if the financial situation in her maayka is solved, and asks if stuff like this keeps happening. Jyoti is a little surprised, but assures her that everything is fine. Choti maa tells her to quickly get ready.
-Jyoti-Pankaj Room-
Jyoti walks into her room looking thoughtful. Pankaj hugs her and says that he missed her all day, and that he just wants to spend time with her now. He says that after one day of fighting it feels like they haven't spoken for an age. Pankaj proposes that they go out and have a romantic night out. Jyoti denies and says that she needs to go out with Choti maa. Pankaj tries to kiss Jyoti but she shies away saying that everyone is home and their door is open. Pankaj jokes that he's only trying to kiss his wife, not the neighbour, it is allowed. Jyoti giggles at that and says that his words and actions are getting strange, and that teachers should maintain their dignity and grace, and she runs away, leaving Pankaj smiling. [This was the cutest scene ever. Pankaj is such a sweetheart! Must watch!]
-Break-
Sudha is making rotis while everyone else is eating. Padma notices that Sandeep looks troubled, while Sandeep is wondering how he should tell the family about what Jyoti said. Padma asks Deepu what's wrong, he tries to deny, but everyone insists on asking what wrong. Sandeep blurts out that Jyoti hasn't told anyone in her sasural, including Pankaj, about Sushma, and that everyone knows that Jyoti has only one sister, Sudha. Everyone is shocked.
Padma says that Jyoti didn't do the right thing, because even though the sisters don't get along Jyoti should've exclude Sushma out of her life like that. Padma adds that Jyoti really hurt her. Sandeep stands up for Jyoti and tells everyone that Jyoti sold her jewellery for Sushma, and when the Vashishts found out, they questioned her, but she couldn't tell them of her deceiving sister who eloped with her boyfriend. Sandeep says that Jyoti has her reasons.
Padma still looks upset and says that there is a limit to hatred, but Jyoti would cross this limit, she never thought it would come to that. Jyoti ne Sushma ko jeeteji maar diya [I have no idea how else to say that]. Padma says that now she understands, Jyoti has showed her sautela-pan (that she's a step-sister). Everyone else looks exasperated at Padma's drama, but Padma goes as far as to say that if Sudha makes a mistake then Jyoti will definitely support her. KK stops Padma and tells her to think before she speaks and tells her not to drag Sudha into this.
Dadi tells Padma to think rationally that if she tells everyone about Sushma, then she'll have to tell them about Brij. Sandeep explains to Padma that Jyoti is just in a tough place right now, she doesn't hold any resentment towards anyone. He reminds Padma that he too is Jyoti's step-brother, but has always done everything she could for him. He reminds her also that even after Sushma 's actions, Jyoti mortgaged her jewellery for Sushma, and Sushma just threw that money back at her face. Sandeep is about to blurt out about the Provident Fund, but stops himself.
Padma is still adamant and says that everyone is thinking from Jyoti's point of view. No one understands that Sushma is naive. Padma wonders what she might be going through right now. [I knew it! Padma just can't be good to Jyoti for too long. It's not in her nature. She just has to turn around and support her precious Sushma and her useless husband. And I thought she had finally changed, with all the times she shouted at Sushma to behave properly with Jyoti.]
-Break-
Sudha is in her room, troubled, thinking over Padma's harsh words about Jyoti. She thinks that everyone at home is already so worried, how can she trouble everyone with her own problems with what happens to her at night. Sudha is scared that no one will believe her. She thinks of Jyoti but then thinks that she can't tell Jyoti because she already does so much for them, and now she has her own life. Sudha gets panicked that what if she doesn't tell anyone and her secret is suddenly revealed? She says that she can't let that happen, and now there is only one way, and looks determined.
-Club-
Uday is sad and drinking. He asks the manager about Devika and the manager says that she hasn't been around for quite some time now. Uday wonders if Devika is okay, and urges her to come because he misses her.
-Sudha Room-
Sudha locks her door, but puts the keys on the table, and worriedly goes to bed. She wonders how long she can keep doing this, and cries.
Sudha is sleeping and has flashes of herself as Devika. Devika wakes up and thinks that it's suffocating in here, and decides to head out.
-Club-
Uday is dejected, sitting at a table. He says that it doesn't look like Devika will show up today either. He asks for the cheque, but the manager suggests to take another drink and wait because there's no trusting waqt or Devika, they can change at any time. Uday agrees to wait.
-Sudha Room-
Devika gets ready but sees that the door is locked. She wonders who locks the door each night, and wonders what to do, when she spots the keys. She thinks that no lock can come between Devika and her freedom.
-Club-
Uday thinks that now it's too late, he's not sure if she'll show up. His mind wants him to leave, but he feels like she will show up. There are some guys at another table who make fun of Uday, calling him the Majnu of the 21st century, who survives on water. They also mention that his Laila is also from the 21st century, who can run away with anyone she pleases.
Uday is sad and thinks back to what Jyoti said, that if a girl is interested in him, the first thing she will do is introduce him to her family.
Devika shows up and sees Uday looking sad. He gets excited to see her and they hug, but she becomes conscious and pulls away. Uday tells her that he thought she wouldn't come tonight, but he's really glad to see her. Uday proposes that they go out, because he wants to speak with her.
-Outside-
Uday and Devika are sitting on a park bench and Uday tells her that she used to come looking for her every night, but she never showed up, and no message or phone number. Uday says that he has no way of contacting his girlfriend. Devika stops him and tells him to leave the past alone, and talk about the present. Uday is a little surprised and says that he is talking about their future, which he can't see. He can't seem to understand her. He waits for her every day, and now people have started mocking him. Devika stops him and says that she never asked for him to wait for her. Uday says that he really likes her independence, but she takes him too much for granted. He says that he's waited for her every day, but when she does show up she gives him attitude. He adds that he is an open book, but all her knows about her is her name, and for their relationship to progress, she needs to tell him more.
Devika angrily stops him, and wonders why she even came. She says that meeting him makes her feel better, but even here she is feeling suffocated. She says that her life is already complicated enough, she doesn't need his problems as well. He can be Majnu and Devdas all he wants, but she doesn't want to become a Paro or a Laila.
Devika walks away angrily and Uday thinks that her and Sudha's face resemble so much, but she is nothing like Sudha. Uday wishes that Devika was even a little like Sudha. [Aww... this was really sad to see. I don't want Uday and Devika to fight. But I think slowly Uday is falling for Sudha a well, so there is hope for Suday yet]
-Break-
Sushma is getting ready for work, when Brij tells her that there is a performance in a hotel tonight and the money will be great, so he tells her to get home from work on time. Sushma says that they don't need to do this any longer because she has a job now. But Brij says that even with her job, they'll still need more money because of his health. Sushma says that he's too sick to perform, but Brij assures her that he's fine, and adds that he's not the type to sit home and live of his wife's earnings.
Sushma argues with him that if he's so determined, then she will go there and dance on recorded music. Brij tries to stop her but she is adamant because he needs his rest. Brij agrees and tells her to be careful. When she leaves he smirks [Again [:@]]
-TK Enterprises-
Sushma is typing something, and having trouble with how to word the letter. Thakkar sneaks up on her and tells her that there is a party at his farm house, and tells her to perform there as her overtime. When Sushma tries to reject, he tells her not to create a scene, she knows that she got the job on these lines. He tells her to be there. Sushma is scared.
-Shivani Home-
Jyoti comes to meet Shivani, who tells Jyoti that Sushma always used to praise her and call her a role model. Jyoti gets upset thinking about all of Sushma's mean words. Shivani tells Jyoti that she hasn't seen Sushma since after her marriage. Jyoti asks her about the money and Shivani again says that they haven't met at all, so there's no chance of Sushma taking any money. Jyoti is shocked and worried, wondering if Sushma did something wrong to get the money.
