Okay I have a lot to say before this one shot...firstly *hugs* for Priyo because she's the one who made me hear this song like 4 months ago! 😳 I totally fell in love with it. And before you all assume it from Veer Zaara, it's not. It's sung by a singer Navin Kundra and I advice EVERYONE to hear it! 😳 Also...yes I wrote it with me...and basically I'm in a VERY angsty mood right now and so I took it out like this!😳 Enjoy! 😃
His hand clutched the guitar in his hand harder. The strings were burning into his skin as he stood there watching her. Watching her with her hands around someone else. Someone who wasn't him.
He wasn't completely sure where he was wrong. He loved her and wanted her to be in his life forever but she had left; just gone without saying another word. His heart could still feel the pain as if had happened two days ago rather than 2 months ago.
"It's not working Prem. I can't do this anymore. I'm sorry," She had silently rolled her suitcase out of the apartment and he had done nothing to stop her. He was left feeling the vibrations from the slammed door as his heart turned over in his chest.
He waited for her eyes to turn to him. He had to see her eyes. They would tell him how she was doing. He needed to know if she felt any regret over her decision or not but something in his heart told him even if she knew he was the one playing the guitar at this lounge she wouldn't glance in his direction.
He closed his eyes and could feel her around him and could see her smile back at him but then he blinked his eyes open and realized. She was with someone else now and he didn't matter to her.
in aankhon mein dekhu toh kuch khoya sa lage
in hoto pe yeh hasi jhooti lage
He didn't know how but his fingers just started strumming on the guitar and he could feel her eyes on him even though he kept his eyes down. He was attuned to her every expression and knew she'd feel the meaning behind this song.
teri in baaton mein kuch chupa lage
teri adaaye bhi alag si lage
She stood there with a drink in her hand and that wasn't the girl he had fallen in love with. When she was 'his girl' she never needed drinks to make her feel good. Together they would have each other to make the most of their time. They wouldn't need anything to enhance their fun.
pyar ke samunder mein tu
in lehron mein khoyee
tumko nahin hai pataa
To him it felt like the girl he knew was gone. She was lost somewhere in this high society life. He wanted his girl back. The one who squealed when she saw something she liked, the one who dressed in simple salwar suits.
Now he was seeing her in entirely a new light. She had a drink in hand. She was wearing clothes he could never imagine her in. A short black skirt with a purple tank top. She wasn't the same girl he loved and that made him wonder if that girl ever existed at all.
tere liye duniya bhool jaoon
tere liye meri jaan
tere liye saare din saari raatein
tere liye aasman ha
She had made him the happiest man alive when she had confessed to being in love with him and now he couldn't help but wonder if all that was a lie.
This was never the girl he had fallen in love with. If it was the one he loved she'd be sitting on the bench right next to him and moving along with the rhythm of his guitar but now she was elsewhere.
He wanted to stop staring at her but his eyes failed to listen as he took in her every smile. It seemed hollow somehow. Her eyes looked distant as she started at the guy she was conversing with. She was never like this when she was with him then what changed now? Why had she left him 2 months ago, stranded alone in the world they had created together?
She was happy in her own world. In her new world, leaving 'their' world behind.
jo lamhe saath bithaye woh pyar ka saama
jo sapne humne dekhe unka hoonwa kya
is aag mein na jaane kyun hum chal rahe
kabse andheron mein hum yoon hi rahe
He couldn't stop thinking of the day she had decided to leave as he continued to sing out the lyrics that pierced his heart.
"Meera! Meera! I'm home," He smiled as he walked through the apartment door. "Where are you jaan?"
The silence got louder as he walked through the living room towards the bedroom. He saw her standing at the window with her back towards the door when he quickly raised her in his arms and spun her around. "I'm so so happy today!"
Meera turned as he let go of her and faced him. "What happened?"
"You don't seem very happy." He commented as he rolled up his sleeves heading to the en suite bathroom.
"I--uhh don't worry about it," Meera said as she leaned on the wall. "What happened at work?"
Prem smiled as she turned off the tap from washing his hands. "I just got my promotion letter,"
Meera smiled. "That's awesome," She hugged him quickly before letting him go change into a white kurta.
"I know," he agreed. "I think it's because of you," He smiled as he put his arm around her waist. "Ever since you agreed to marry me--everything's been going good."
He noticed the color fade from her face the minute he mentioned marriage. He just shook his head at her and asked. "So what's for dinner?"
"Prem--mujhe tumse kuch kehna hain," She bit her lip and looked down at her interlaced fingers.
That was when she said the few words that hurt him. And he didn't say anything to stop her and now she was gone. Away from his life.
kya baat hai jo tera saaya bhi rootha lage
itni hai kyun dooriyan
tere liye duniya bhool jaoon
tere liye meri jaan
tere liye saare din saari raatein
tere liye aasman hain
He looked at her again and his heart leaped as he saw her eyes lock with his. He saw the way her eyes went blank and the smile vanished from her face. It hurt him to see that at one time he made her smile and now she went expressionless.
She wasn't his Meera now. She belonged to someone else and this was something he had to learn to accept. He watched as she left the guy she was standing with and walked slowly towards him.
He wanted to talk to her but now he didn't want to know to what she'd say to him. The last words she said had hurt him so much that he still felt them pinching his heart and now he was here standing less than 5 feet away from her.
tuhi meri jaan ve
tuhi mera maan
tere uthe haiyon mera dil kurbaan
"Hi Prem...I uhh never expected to see you here."
Prem just kept staring at her. He couldn't open his mouth. She was in front of him. No, his Meera wasn't in front of her. This new girl was standing in front of him. Someone he didn't want to get to know.
"I'm sorry....I don't think I know you," He silently stood up, and walked away holding the guitar in his left hand. He was done with her now. She had nothing to do with his life. He'd be happier without her and he knew that.
He turned back as he approached the door and saw a single tear escape her eye and a small smile crept on his face.
tuhi meri jaan ve
tuhi mera maan
tere uthe haiyon mera dil kurbaan
How was that? 😳 *hides face* I just want comments on how it was written! 😛 And oh yes, special thanks to Rinkz who helped me while I was writing it!

Meera😛
