This was sort of expected...for a couple of reasons:

1. The storyline is completely different from what's in Scriptures. For those of you that do not know, Dushyant's father wasn't even alive when he met Shakuntala. There are many other discrepancies with this show and the stories in scriptures.

2. At times, the show was boring.

3. You can make a movie on Shakuntala, but not a tv series...Shakuntala's life had only a few events...Now, with the appropriate literature, you can probably make a tv serial on Dushyant (definetely Bharat)...but on Shakuntala?....A tv serial on Shakuntala would be too dragging (stretching every event to the limit)...which is exactly what this serial was in the beginning...before they decided to go off air.
