Part Three

As he entered the club, the noise hit his senses like strong wind. He stood in the entrance and observed the view inside. It was crowded with teen-age boys and girls, mostly of Greenfield high school. They all were in high spirit, winning the match. The place was not a real club, just a place where the teenagers could hang together, and more or less it was always full of Greenfield students, today was no different.

He scanned the room to see if his team was here. He found them quickly. They were sitting around a large table in the centre, enjoying the attention the others were giving them. Out of instinct, Ranveer looked up and saw him. He waved cheerfully, "Here Captain!"

Jai dropped himself in a chair between Ranveer and Roy and eyed the girl beside Ranveer suspiciously, "Who's she?"

"She's my new girlfriend." Ranveer replied promptly, "Her name is Marisha..ouch!" he glared at the girl and instantly his glare vanished, "I meant Lisa..she's Lisa...hehe..sorry, My mistake!" The other boys sniggered and Jai only shrugged. "I've never seen her before. Is she from our school?"

"Yeah, she's on the 7th Grade." Ranveer replied.

"7th Grade!" Jai snorted, "You are going to be picked up for child abuse one day. Can't you find any other girl? Dating a child, huh?" he grabbed a drink and scowled unmindfully.

Lisa, who felt a bit offended at being talked about like that intervened, "Well, you didn't mind dating Taara last month, she was a 7th Grader. There's nothing wrong in being in the 7th grade!"

"Who's Taara?" Jai asked blankly. "I don't know any Taaras."

"You're just pretending or you forgot." Lisa said hotly, "you guys change your girlfriend like shirts." She shot an accusing glance at Ranveer.

"Here, here! You've got him wrong Lisa. Jai's not like Ranveer, he doesn't change his girlfriends like Ranveer. In fact, he didn't date anyone after Roshni and that's a year ago. That Taara of yours, whoever she is, must have been bluffing that she dated the college Captain." said Sindy cheerfully. (His name was actually Sandeep, but in course of time he became Sindy to all)

"Don't say the 'R' word in front of me again." Jai warned gloomily.

"Yeah, say a 'B' word." Harpy(Harpreet) said.

"B? What's the chakkar of B?" asked Ranveer, consuming some beer that the club smuggles in. Hash (Mahesh actually, none can remember who eliminated the first two letters of his name anymore) whispered in Ranveer's ear, "the girl who dared to slap him stupid, her name starts with B"

Jai heard that and his face turned red in fury, "What do you know about her?"

"She's Puskar Dixit's sister." Sindy told. "That's what he told back in the afternoon, nah? He called her Bani."

"Bani Dixit!" Lisa chirped in,, "she studies on the 9th grade. Comes from a rich family, is spoilt and likes to show off her money. She's got an expensive taste in clothes and accessories."

"How do you know so much about her?" Jai narrowed his eyes, at the same time trying to imprint the informations in his mind.

"Simple, she's on my Facebook friends list. She's very active on Facebook you know."

Jai groaned, he hated all kind of virtual socializing. He didn't know much about stuff like YM, Facebook or Myspace. "Give me your facebook password. I'm going to have a peep at her profile." he stated to Lisa. Her eyes grew big, "Are you mental? You're asking me my Facebook password? This is utter nonsense! Why on earth I'd give you such a personal...Oww." she stopped her blabbering as she felt a Ranveer kicking her leg under the table. On being eye to eye, Ranveer muttered, "Don't argue with him if you want to live, stupid!"

she suddenly realized with whom she was talking and started sweating. "Oh..hehe, sure, why not. Anything for you Jai...Facebook password is really nothing..hehe."

"Dirty, go and fetch my laptop from the car." Jai ordered and leaned against the chair. Noticing his mood, Dirty (His name has experienced the worst transformation. Karty from Karthik and then dirty from Karty!) rushed to fetch the laptop.

…...............

"Puskar! My baby! What happened to your head?" Naina shrieked as soon as she saw the small bandage on Puskar's forhead.

"It's nothing Mom, just got a little hurt while playing." Puskar tried to brush it off. Naina made him sit on the living room sofa and inspected the wound. Then she looked suspiciously at Bani who was going upstairs, quietly. Her eyes were swollen, her face red.

"Why has she been crying?" Naina asked Puskar, who hesitated. Naina started yelling, "You got hurt because of her, didn't you? Now you are trying to cover it up!"

Puskar was horrified at his mother's capability to jump at stupid conclusions and protested at once. "What are you talking about Mom? It's nothing like this. My wound has nothing to do with Bani..."

"Don't lie to me Puskar." Naina snapped. She dragged Bani down and shouted on top of her voice. "Maaji, Kiran Bhabi! Come and see what your loving daughter has done to my son."

"Let go off me." Bani snatched her hand back forcefully from Naina's grip and that made Naina trip. "My God, you dare to hit me!" she exclaimed.

Maya and Kiran rushed to the see why was there such a commotion. Naina shook her head vigorously and started crying, "Look at her! That disobedient spoilt girl. She did something terrible and nearly killed my son. Now she dares to shove me away. I fell and nearly broke my head."

Bani looked heavenwards hearing the absurd accusations. Kiran looked at her angrily, "Is this true Bani?"

"True! When did the liar started to tell truths?" Bani wanted to say but she remained quiet, sensing her mother's anger.

"Mom, it's really not what you are thinking." Puskar tried to reason with his mother once more but was stopped abruptly by Naina, "you don't need to save her skin Puskar. Anyway, she's not going to be punished in this house, whatever she does. One day she'll come dancing at home saying that she killed someone. And you know what will all these people do? They'll congratulate her."

"Naina!" said a shocked Maya, "What nonsense are you talking about? Bani could never do anything wrong."

"Off course she can't." Naina mocked.

That was all Bani could take. The day was already very humilitating for her. She burst into sudden tears and sat down on the sofa, covering her face with her hands. Maya immediately sat beside her and hugged her affectionately, "Sshh, baby, don't cry." she tried to sooth Bani.

Naina tutted and Maya said scornfully, "Let go Naina, she's a child and you must not forget that she's your niece."

"She's grown up enough to know what's wrong and what's right. Naina is right Maaji, you spoil her too much. I'm truly ashamed of her today, how can you shove your Chachi Bani? Isn't it enough that you go around being rude to anybody that crosses your path?"

"Kiran, she's like an angel." Maya said sadly, "I don't spoil her!"

Kiran ignored her. "Bani do you want to say anything?"

Bani wanted to say a lot of things but her ego made her keep quiet. She looked heavenwards and pretended to ignore her mother's words. That only made Kiran more angry.

"I'm going to seize your mobile and laptop. You won't talk to any of your friends in this weekend, not even Puskar or Mayank. You won't come out of your room until I tell you can. Understood?"

"But Chachi.." Puskar tried to argue but was cut off by Kiran. "No Puskar, don't give excuses on her behalf."

Bani got up and ran upstairs making as much noise as she can. She reached her room and shouted an angry, "I hate all of you!" and slammed the door shut with a loud bang.

…............

Puskar knocked and entered Mayank's room. He saw Mayank almost hidden behind a pile of books. He has been a bookworm since childhood and read anything and everything that came across him. He was an MBBS student and already looked like a strict surgeon behind the thick glasses and books. But those who know Mayank closely know that, one word to describe Mayank was "cool". He was open minded, intelligent and had a heart of gold. He had the magical power to convince anybody to do anything with his charming yet intimidating personality. Puskar idolised Mayank, though he knew that he'd never be able to make an academically successful career like Mayank.

"Busy Bhaia?" he asked as he sat in the corner of the bed, careful, not to upset the big volumes kept on the side.

"Not much, it's saturday tomorrow..no class. Anything wrong?"

"Yes, many things are wrong." Puskar said and narrated the whole days' events without hiding any fact. He and Bani hardly hid anything from Mayank.

"So you reckon this Ego Jai is going to harm Bani?" Mayank asked after listening patiently.

"How do you know we call him Ego Jai?" Puskar looked at Mayank, stunned. Mayank laughed. "Only by the fact that you mentioned him as Ego Jai at least 5 times in the story."

Puskar flushed, "You know, how it is, the nick names always comes to the mouth." he mumbled.

"Yes, I know....but don't call him that ever!"

"Are you crazy?" Puskar rolled his eyes. "I'm worried sick about Bani."

"If I were you, I'd worry about the Ego Jai, not Bani." Mayank laughed again, "You know what she can be like. I bet she'll make his life living hell."

"You don't know Ego Jai, Bhaia. He's a MFH!"

"What's an MFH, may I ask?" Mayank twinkled his eyes.

"Monster from Hell." Puskar offered. Mayank nearly rolled with laughter. "Monster from Hell? You don't worry about Bani. If Ego Jai is a MFH, then our sis Bani is also a DKC when it comes to taking revenge."

Now it was Puskar's turn to roll his eyes, "DKC? What's DKC?"

Mayank grinned, "Durga-Kali Combination!"

…...................

Jai watched her profile picture for a long time. She was standing on the lobby of a posh hotel, wearing jeans and fluffy jackets. Probably the picture was taken in a country where it snowed. She was laughing openly at the camera and Jai had to admit to himself that she was looking extremely cute. He closed his eyes and reviews the plan he's made to teach her a lesson. It seemed full proof. He grinned happily – now she'd know not to bother Jai Walia again. His chain of thought was broken as his mobile rang. He checked the caller ID and groaned. "Why is that Plastic calling me." he mumbled and cut the call. But in 2 seconds, the same caller called again. Knowing very well that if he keeps cutting her call, she'll eventually call at his home number, he took the call reluctantly. "hello?"

"Hellllooooooo Honeyyyyyyyyy. How are you?" A voice cooed from the other side. He grimaced. "What it is Pia? Why are you bothering me in the middle of night?"

"Ooohhooo, did I disturb you, Handsomey?"

Jai made a face. He wish he could make her disappear from the earth. But then, he can't do anything about her. He sighed.

"Why are you sighing darling? Misshhhhing Meeee? Hihihihi." she giggled and said cheekily, "Tell Mummiji that I'll be coming over to dinner tomorrow."

"Stop Calling MY mother Mummiji." Jai growled. "She's MY mother not yours. Go call your own one Mummiji or anything you want."

"Jealllous my baby?" she giggled again. "She's your mother. But she'll be my mother as well nah? My mother-in-law?"

He rolled his eyes and retorted, "I can send you to jail for talking to an underag boy about marriage."

"Underage?" she laughed. "Didn't you grow up, old boy?" she added slyly, "I did. Maybe I can help you grow up." she suggested with a hint in her voice. Jai understood what she meant but pretended to be oblivious, "Sure, why not? Maybe we can start by me addressing you as Didi?"

"Jai..stop the nonsense. Why can't you just accept the fact that you and me are going to get married. Our parents fixed it long before."

"Because I'm 17 and marriage is an alien idea to me. Moreover, your whole being seem alien to me. I have a doubt that some spaceship dropped you here on the earth. Now shut up and don't call back." he threw the phone aside and groaned in exasperation, cursing Pia for spoiling his good mood.

How he wished he could do something to her. But she was his parents' best friend's daughter. And unfortunately for him, they decided to get their children married long time back. "I'll marry a Yeti, but not that Plastic." he swore to himself and went to sleep, dreaming of throwing Pia out of the galaxy.😍

I really hate this Naina--- she is a drama queen. And Pushkar should have tried more in trying to tell the truth. Poor Bani-- but she is a lil spoilt, maybe she will learn something from this. DKC was too hilarious!! 😆😆😆 so was the whole thing btwn Jai and Pia. Please update soon, can't wait to read more.
