Cosmopolitan Society

Dear Friends;

I have a problem at hand and need your views on the same.

In our society, a new managing committee has been formed, all the committee members are persons of high integrity and are very religious, and they have decided that they would like to install ganpati and saibaba idols in the foyer of the building.

The problem is the society consists of people of all communities, and people from one community have reservations on the installation of ganpati idol, and the issue is that the new committee has already announced the proposed installation.

What we need do, stall the project, call majority and take their opinion or just go ahead without really caring about one particular community, or use PR skills and try to convince each and every body that the intentions are scared.

What i feel is convincing them is not that much easy.
Even if u go with Poll dont under estimate the fewer society they amy create very big issues it is a critical situation have to think a lot in this regard.

Willows, i think whatever is to be done has to be done after careful contemplation. In a cosmopolitan environment I don't think it would be wise to take a decision that might be objectionable to some other community. I think the governing body should talk out with the people concerned, get an unanimous consensus before making any decision.

i think if ganpati and sai baba r idols being placed then i wud suggest that ask those commitee members also to put the idols of diff community who lives there.... 😛 😛 so that no one has problem 😛 😛

But again they will fight for a particular place if they are in a fighting mood we cant do anything with them

even after convincing that it is for sacred reason..problems do persist..and it may result in riots ...so better to abort the idea of installation of any idol..

yes kavitha true...still problem persists.......i think shud go for installation of both idols then...and as vishesh shud go for polling and decide which one shud be intalled in chosen place ..and the left idol shud be placed in some other place
