I've been away for quite a while because of other commitments in real life... but now that I'm back, I think this is a nice topic to reply to 😃
I agree, as well as dissagree on this one...
All shows have some similarities with each others... if anyone looks hard enough, similarities can probably be found between every prime time show. I watched Kasamh Se, and so I think I can put in a few cents/paisas.
Yeah, there is that age thing between the lead male characters... but I think that's about it really!
As a fan of Bandini, I'm personally happy that the prize role of Dharamraaj Mahiyavanshi does not have too much in common with the Walia character of Kasamh Se.
The role of DM is fused with intensity... I feel it's much better written character, with very strong and explosive personality traits - a total no-nonsense character. With Walia, I never really noticed anything in terms of personality... it was simply the same as what I'd seen many times before, with nothing extra in terms of intensity. With Walia, I think that the situations that the character was put in, is what made the show work (for a while). With Bandini, I think it's the other way round -- DM's personality, intensity, and power is what gives direction to the scenes... where as Walia was always the puppet of circumstances, and therefore constantly getting thrashed by any and everyone 😔
When there is such a difference in power, and strength of characters, I don't think that the character's age is enough to make out that they are similar -- it's too minor I think.
With Santu, and the Bani character... utlimately, I think that both are similar in the sense that they are not as strong as other characters in the show. I actually prefer the Bani character... although after 7 months of KS, she too ended up not doing much.
Kasamh Se was a romantic story, where as Bandini is not (thankfully!). I think that Bandini is far more focussed on drama and storyline, where as Kasamh Se had overdoses of 'nothing' scenes which were kinda laborious, and wishy-washy 'time filler' material 😳
I think that Ekta ji has learnt from the mistakes that were made in KS, and therefore is making an extra effort to ensure that similar things do not happen in a quality show like Bandini -- that is why the storytelling technique is much improved, characters are much better developed, and dramatisation is superior 👍🏼
Just because the lead characters of two shows happen to be tycoons, it doesn't mean they have to be similar -- the fact that DM stands tall in the face of troubles, and comes out strong and victorious everytime (instead of folding), means that his approach is notably different to that of the lead KS character.
God bless.
