Even though SP has ended, I was still disturbed with how the character Nahar died walking into the river and drowning himself. Last weekend I was reading an article about the rumoured ending of Ramayan (articles from unknown sources) in the article it mentioned Lord Ram drowning himself. I know SP takes things from the Ramayan. So I did a search...

How did Lord Rama die?

, Chapter 106. How can a god die? Who will then look after the affairs of the world?...Lord Rama did not commint suicide his life was ended by taking Jala Samadhi in Sarayu River-As per Valmiki Ramayana -Sitaafter ramas wife sita died or actually devoured by earth , rama didnt want to stay alive so he went drowned in the river sarayu to wash away everyones grief....after ramas wife sita died or actually

As per Valmiki Ramayana -

Sita Devi would have to prove her innocence publicly, with yet another trial by fire. Even Sita's enduring spirit could not bear this final cruelty. She called upon her mother, the Earth, to prove her chastity and take her back into her arms forever. Bhoodevi, the Earth, parted under Sita's feet to accept her. The ground opened and received Sita devi "the daughter of the furrow," and Rama lost his beloved and only wife.
As Sita was being swallowed by the Earth, Kusha tried to save his mother but was unsuccessful. Unable to endure life without her, he resolved to follow, and the gods favoured his determination.Heartbroken, Rama decided to give up his life and took jala samadhi by walking into the Sarayu River and his walking into the water was hailed by Brahma's voice of welcome from heaven, and entered "into the glory of Vishnu."-

It is very correct indeed . Infact when Rama was entering the Sarayu river and Hanuman touched his feet the blessing that came out of Rama's mouth was ' Chiranjeevi Bhava .' It meant .........Be Immortal .'
And so according to Hinduism , Hanuman is among the eight immortals who walk this earth and didnt die with their earthly bodies ..........Vyasa , Markandeya , Ashwathama etc being among the eight .
Needless to say the blessing didnt exactly please Hanuman . Hanuman had no interest in being immortal if Rama left as he was devoted to Rama's feet . He existed for Rama . and if Rama was not there , he wanted to discard his body and follow him . This blessing , which is so rare , so precious , hankered after by so many spiritual aspirants , meant nothing to Hanuman if his Guru , Rama was not there ! See the love for his Guru . But Rama ordered him to remain immortal and relieve the people of their suffering in Kaliyuga........the age of sin .
Speaking of Ramayana , if Nahar was likened to Ram , then Saloni shud be a Sita . But Sita . delicate as she looked was spirited and had guts to stand for her self respect . When Rama was banished for fourteen years to the forest he told her to live in the palace and serve her in laws . She categorically refused . Respectfully but firmly she told him that her primary duty was to be with him , all these other duties followed later . Remember , it was a very bold and big thing to counter argue with ur husband in those days . And she has convinced Rama with her impeccable firm argument ! Saloni only made Tara her priority and ignored Nahar and even left him once to save Tara and Brijesh's marraige .
The next time Sita refuted Rama was when he discovered she had given birth to his twins and asked her to come back to the palace with him as now no one doubted her character . She again stood her ground and refused . She told him take the children but I will not be humiliated again ..........tossed to and fro coz people talk etc etc . I now wish to join God alone . And she destroyed her body by sinking within the recesses of the earth .
See her self respect seeking nature , her guts , her firm mind . She was subservient to No one , not even her Lord ! Saloni sadly , never showed self respect and I fail to understand even today why so many liked her . The only female in SP i liked was Mannobhabhi .....who was practical , gutsy and yet compassionate .

That's true. Saloni just stood up for her family, she did not show any self-respect. She never complained about insults she suffered at the hands of Kaveri and Tara. She always forgave them easily for all their sins. If she would have stood up for her self-respect, it would have looked more logical too.

agreed people can clear the doubts or forgive any time but then the self dignity should come first. While Saloni just thought of her so called "Parivaar" all the time. There are limitations to everyhting how much can one keep quiet?

Lord Ram ruled for many 1000 of yrs and then Gods contemplated that he must return back to Vishnu lok. Its then that Kaal came on earth as a sage to meet Lord Ram and remind him that Ram Rajya ends. He asks Lord to promise him that NO one shd hear their conversation and if someone does then that person must be given death punishment. Lord Ram agrees and instructs Laxman to guard the door. Unfortunately while the conversation is going on inside the room, Rishi Durvasa comes to meet Lord Ram but Laxman stops him telling him that Ram is busy in discussion. Rishi Durvasa finds it outrageous that he is being asked to wait? He threatens to curse the family unless he is allowed to go inside. Laxman contemplates that its better he goes inside and faces whatever be the punishment than have a curse faced by whole family. Laxman enters inside as Kaal is abt to leave and thus becomes liable for punishment. Lord Ram is deeply anguished and cannot bear this loss. Laxman quietely leaves in the middle of night and takes 'jal samadhi' in sarayu river. Unable to bear separation from his brother, Lord Ram too decides to take the Jal samadhi. This is when Hanuman too wants to follow the Lord but is stopped as Ram tells him that he will serve the people on earth till the name of Ram exists on earth.

I agree with Koolsadhu that Saloni's charac is not similar to Sita's. Sita fulfilled all her duties but held her self esteem too. Sita did all duties to the perfection.daughter, wife, mother, queen and in the end as a woman. She hands over the heirs of kingdon to Ram after which she gets "antardhyan' into mother earth. Saloni only priority was Tara and the singh parivar for some reason even the cost of her unborn baby which is ridiculous. Nahar did matter to her but Tara superceded him! No one was given the priority that Tara got. Altho Nahar charac wasnt like Ram but he was closer to normal and valued wife, brother. bhabhi everyone, more balanced and sensible approach. He fought for what he felt was right and didnt let injustice flow. OH why did they have to kill him?😡😡😭 Wish they ended with Nahar being alive.
