Taking into mind the economic policies of the UPA govt last 5 years...did congress deserve the victory?
In my opinion, Cong was responsible for so much inflation.....including frequent hype in LPG ,petrol and other petroleum based products prices😡...........in fact the Cong govt cared only for Kisaan, but it hardly paod attention towards an aam admi.........
Forgetting its policies for a while...I would like to quote that Change is always good for a democracy......and I think that now congress govt will never ever suffer a loss in India, it will win every time...being such a large alliance and such an old party....😭

Whether UPA, NDA, third front or 4th front had won, it would have been a victory of democracy for India. I have covered the elections for so many weeks now that am numb and it would have been hard to believe any poll. That the election commision prohibited any was great. Also it pulled up fiery candidates such as Varun Gandhi. But no one knew what to do with him, so they let it go.

When the communists pulled the plug on the govt., it hurt many feelings, for their stand was not wrong on the nuclear deal, only they did not have to go so far. That created a lot of sympathy for the congress. People always favor the underdog. All the political parties ran a no-confidence motion against the congress, and they lost. Samajwadi, which is a party with no consience, supported the congress. As expected, they tried to make barrgains with the ruling coalition and failed miserably.

Manmohan Singh's speech afterwards was like a landmark. The position of a PM is that of a bonded labor, and he has to keep every one happy. He requested Advani to "change his astrologer"🤣implying that astrologers are thieves, faauds, cheats and will say anything to make any one happy.

Poor Singh. He was called sonia's chattel by many politicians including Advani, who must be licking their boots now. Even during his acceptance speech today, he was expected to allow sonia to speak first. He spoke first, but no one took notice. All while Sonia and every one else were willing to give up the govt.. to keep the coalition alive. dr. Singh was the only politician willing to stand for his principles and stood for India.

Even after heart surgery, he is everybody's PM, said sonia, rahul and every one. What a lovable guy!

Others were worse . This time the voters turned out in large numbers , perhaps this turned things in favour of the UPA.

i think it totally deserved the victory. i dont know abt past people. but the new generation is very well educated and well versed with its surrounding. they have opted for educated and young leadership. and i think its the policies of the past 5 years only which have brought the congress such majority.

see no party is 100% efficient. but congress did most things it planned for.

i think if any other party forms govt then its with the sole intention of filling your pockets as much as possible in the spam u have. they dont think abt well being of the country. not even as much as congress does. so thats the reason they were selected over other parties.

i think they have done a fair enough job with terrorism and recession which others would not have done. and MMS is an educated and good leader with lot of patience.

It's strictly my POV, but I don't like UPA at all. Maybe it's because of the fact that as long as Sonia Gandhi is the chairman of Congress, we will never get a strong PM or President. She will always keep her puppets on the competetive front. Eg - Rahul Gandhi ( who has the so called intellectual look ), Mahmohan Singh, Pratibha Patil.

I don't think UPA deserved to win, IMHO.

so whts wrong with that? wht we want more is a stable govt. if we have that we will have a good PM too. there is no shortage of good leaders in congress.

I completely second that!👏 It's as if you posted my thoughts exactly. My whole family believes that as long as Sonia Gandhi is the chairman of Congress, the UPA is not a fit government for India.

As for whether or not the UPA deserved the victory, they absolutely did not. Of course, this is strictly just how I feel.

Yes..........the main cause for my hatred to UPA is Mrs Sonia Gandhi......main reason being she is not of Indian Origin...and she made manmohan the pm...because she knew that he will remain a puppet in her hands..as she might be aware that people may not accept her as PM....
Also, she won hearts by giving a tyag of PM 's seat in 2004

And basically congress has won somewhere because of BJP...swept all 7 seats in Delhi as delhiites thought that cong has done so much development in Delhi...but actually it was BJP who started that...The metro const started when BJP was in power in delhi...but at the end cong alone took all the credit!
Also BJP's hindutwadi image proved lucky for cong...BJP lost muslim, christain votes...also lost sikh votes(by calling manmohan singh weak openly), lost rajasthan because of that reservation issue!
I dont know how people forgot about inflation and the OBC quota......and repeted terror attacks..they were the maximum when UPA was in power

I think thats the sign of a very good politician. its not only these reasons but also security reasons that she did not become the PM.

I dont know how people forgot about inflation infact if u compare to others countries india is less affected by inflation and its not due to congress but Bush and the OBC quota......and repeted terror attacks..😕 now how would u put the blame on congress for this? u mean to say congress gives them order when to attack and when not to?they were the maximum when UPA was in power
