 | IN DENIAL: Ayesha Jhulka | | FRANK ADMISSION: Divya Dutta | It is freezing cold in Jaipur, but the mood on the sets of J P Dutta's Umrao Jaan is heated, courtesy the catfight between cast members Divya Dutta and Ayesha Jhulka.
What started of as a creative disagreement has now snowballed into a battle, with expletives pouring in from both sides.
According to an eyewitness from the production team, "Divya Dutta and Ayesha Jhulka just can't stand each other. And they make their hostility towards one another quite clear.
It's become so bad that Bindiya Dutta is now completely fed up, and has turned a blind eye to the pow-wow. She has wisely decided to stay way from it all, and let the two sort out their differences on their own."
But matters have reached a flash point for Divya and Ayesha. There are reports of the two shouting at each other, screaming abuses and hurling accusations in the open, as the rest of the cast tries hard to look away. | FASAAD KI JAD? Divya and Ayesha in Mujhe Rang De | | Make-up room drama
Last week, Himani Shivpuri joined hands with Jhulka to openly call Dutta a "b***h". What provoked them? Divya's refusal to share a make-up room with the other two led to a heated exchange.
Says another source from the production team, "Divya has been utterly victimised, and sidelined. She feels Ayesha has made friends with Bindiya and influenced the director's wife against her.
Divya, who earlier shared a fabulous rapport with the Duttas (she also acted in JP's LOC), suddenly feels neglected and snubbed. She's on the verge of a breakdown. Yes, things are that bad." Petty differences
When questioned, Dutta said, "It's been a great experience so far working with Ash, Abhishek and Shabanaji. I had certain differences with Ayesha, but things have been sorted out and it's no big deal.
In fact, it's natural to have disagreements when you are working together. But I don't want to blow it out of the proportion by talking about it. We have sorted it out; it was a mutual attempt, rather than an individual one, at making peace." No love lost
Says Jhulka, "There are no disputes at all that we need to sort out. Divya is a sweet girl and I did a show with her on December 17. If she's talking it about it, I'm really shocked."
The actress says she has signed Dutta for her next play. "Divya is a little kid, and I'm looking forward to working with her. I just hope these rumours don't affect our work." Interestingly, Dutta and Jhulka co-star in Anand Mahadevan's play, Mujhe Rang De. It is reliably learnt that Dutta plans to opt out of the play |
