Mumbai: Ekta Kapoor thinks that her best friend Prachi Desai is overweight. Period.
Prachi was recently called by Ekta and given a strict deadline of 30 days to knock off five kilos.
Why? Because Ekta thinks Prachi is too fat to fit into the role of Dawood Ibrahim's reel-life girlfriend which Prachi is portraying in the movie Once Upon a Time.
The film is based on the life of Haji Mastan, still regarded as the most powerful underworld don India has ever produced.
According to sources, Ekta thinks that Prachi is not looking as "delicate" as a gangster's moll should be. And so she called Prachi and told her in clear terms that she needs to lose some weight if she wants to "fit into" the role.
Though Prachi didn't mention Ekta's name, she admitted that she has been told by her producers (Balaji Telefilms is a co-producer of the movie) to knock off some flab.
"I think I have put on some pounds because of my hectic lifestyle and my tendency to gorge on desserts in-between shoots. I think that is the reason I am looking overweight on screen. I think they are right and I have already joined a gym to knock off those kilos," said Prachi.
