Would it work in the western world?

Hola!

With the end of KS and me still popping here... made me think, would whatever happened in KS (i mean every storyline.. inc Sahil being blown up, leaps and deaths) would it work in the 'western' world?

I think the western world is open to pretty much any bizzare storyline (i havent seen leaps yet.. but hey theres always a first 😆)

But would Kasamh Se be a hit if it were remade and were called 'I Promise'.. I dnt knw why but i thought it would be interesting to see how close the westerners make it to the desi's.. can you imagine the songs they would use for the background?

well, lets put a slight spin on things.. Ill take one show (Eastenders) its long running 20 years or so.. had a person come back to life - LOGICALLY. (Papa Den for those who wanted to know lol) I remember the whole of England laffing at the storyline then on the website someone wrote its normal in Indian dramas for this to happen 🤣 oh that killed me

Had half brother/sister love storyline.. Dennis and Sharan, they had a kid, the guy died on new years day or was it xams? Anyway he was stabbed and i cried as i loved his character

Havent watched it recently but they had another storyline to do with peadophiles (sp?)

Oh another storyline, one of the actresses had an exit when a dog ate her sorta thing (that was serious as within that week there was a story in the news of a child dying the same way)

so yeh there have been some spicy story lines in the past.. would I promise work 🤔

KS or any other Indian show would never work in the western world cause some thing Indian's think might be shocking the rest would laugh at, the umpteen leaps the being dead and coming back the vamps COME on JIGS would run the Rovers in Corrie and Pia and Rano would run the Queen Vic and Bani and Jai well !!!!!!!!!! They could be in the Apprentice nah LMAO LMAO !!!

Never henz...it would work for one track...a love story of two people...but then you would have to move to a different set of people and their story...no conituation of saga of two people...

It may work if the actors don't change...actor loyalty to the character/show is big here! other than that, rest of the world is also made of same stuff - love, hatred, relationships, infidelity, seduction, death, murder etc etc.....presentation may be slightly different depending on the culture and traditions!
