The new politicians - TV stars!

With Raju Srivastav set to contest the elections, we pick telly stars who we would like to see join politics.

After Smriti Irani contested in the Loksabha election last year in Delhi, Raju Srivastav will be contesting in the upcoming Loksabha election in Allahabad this year. So with telly actors turning politicians, we take a look at few stars who we would like to see contesting in the elections soon.
Ronit Roy

His image as a perfect husband and father will surely help actor Ronit Roy contest in the elections. Being the strong and silent type, Ronit is an ideal choice because he has absolutely no controversy to his name- this will surely help him gain a good amount of votes. Though, we feel that if he were elected, loyal Ronit would still stick to his old bunch of pals such as Ekta Kapoor- not a good career move at all.

Rakhi Sawant

With her tell-it-like-it-is attitude, one thing is for sure, Rakhi oozes honesty. This refreshing approach to politics would definitely get her a reasonably good vote bank. Rakhi also has the ability to connect well with people and above all, she really knows how to win the hearts of the junta. As for her party's campaign, when has she failed to generate publicity?

Hussain

A heartthrob for women of all ages, Hussain would definitely get most of the female population's vote. He's a great host so giving speeches should be a piece of cake for this actor. His super smooth charm could to hold his party together through bad patches and Hussain could even entertain localities with his extraordinary dance skills.

Hiten and Gauri Tejwani

Hiten and Gauri are hardly ever seen apart so it would be only natural for the duo to contest the election together as well. Getting exposure will not be an issue here as the couple is already really popular. They are very well-behaved and have never been involved in any sort or scandal or controversy. The combination of Gauri's drop dead gorgeous looks and Hiten's friendliness is bound to get this husband-wife team some serious attention.

Sara Khan and Parul Chauhan

These two young faces have a good, homely image and would get a good number of housewives voting for them. The actresses shot fame in no time yet they are quite down-to-earth and very well-mannered. There's only one problem- they tend to break down in tears at the drop of a hat! That's something they'll have to control if they want to rally successfully.

Kamya Punjabi

She may portray a baddie onscreen but this super hot chick's frankness is bound to get her some serious votes. She's liked by most who have watched her perform and is known for her kindhearted personality. The dignity with which she handled her marital problems and managed her family issues will get her plenty of votes from women.

Shweta Tiwari

Apart from her slim and trim figure and her innocent beauty that will lure men into voting for her, Shweta's well-publicised issues with her husband Raja Chaudhary too will get her sympathy from the junta. The actress is intelligent and demands attention with her mere presence. In addition to this, she would also have a good amount of support from her Bhojpuri film fans.

Surekha Sikri

The entire nation may hate her for her onscreen image, but with some good PR, that image could be turned around and portrayed as an ability to keep our nation's enemies in their limit. She is not lady of many words but her strict image is enough for voters to know that she means business. Getting votes, especially in Rajasthan, should not be a problem as her show has a Rajasthani background.

I know that he is a gem of a human being and thus, quite naturally he doesn't have any controversies in his name. He is a very genuine, down to earth humble man, who (I think) isn't comfortable with the political aspect of life. I hope he doesn't enter politics and I think he won't either.

Thank you for the article.

PS: By 'He' I was meaning Ronit Roy.
