Teen, 16, Undergoes Sex Change

(Feb. 5) - A German teenage boy who always wanted to be a girl underwent a sex-change operation last month, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.
At age 16, Kim Petras -- born Tim Petras -- is believed to be the world's youngest transsexual. She began undergoing hormone therapy when she was 12, The Sun reported.

German teen Kim Petras, 16, is believed to be the world's youngest transsexual after undergoing a sex-change operation last month, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper. Petras, who has worked as a model and released a CD, is shown here in her bedroom in Hennef, Germany, in October.

Petras said she had to wait until her 16th birthday for the operation to be legal.
"I was asked if I feel like a woman now, but the truth is I have always felt like a woman -- I just ended up in the wrong body," she told the newspaper.
"I can enjoy swimming, and bikinis, go in the changing rooms without a problem, everything has changed because of this operation. I just can't wait to put on my favorite bathing suit and go swimming like I've never done before."
Petras has worked as a model and released a CD.

Food for thought:

Is it ethical to change your sex because you feel like you should be part of the other gender? Just because science allows it, does it make it right? Do sex change operations go hand in hand with "gayism"? Should such rights be given to teenagers? Is this operation a necessity, a medical discovery or rather another way of surgeon's making more money because people are idiotic and apparently Botox isn't enough of a means anymore?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My personal thoughts:

I think the issue is completely unethical. Each of us was made part of a gender, and we should learn to accept that. Just because science allows us to do something, doesn't make that action right or acceptable. I understand that sexuality disorders exist, and at times gender really is a confusion, but to change your sex because "it doesn't feel right" is going overboard and against nature. Just my opinion, more on this later.

Share your thoughts. 😊

We had a similar topic a while back, you can read through it for views.
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/debate-mansion/456715/sex-changes-should-be-banned

The topic had to be locked for violating rules. But, it makes an interesting debate, specially considering the news event. We also have new people here for some new perspectives. As long as everyone is mature and responsible, there should be no problems.

Will post my views eventually, although I had a lot to say in the previous topic. πŸ˜†

Yikes, looks like I just started the next debate here. πŸ˜†

The topic had to be locked for violating rules.
Uh-oh, why am I always a part of topics that violate rules? πŸ˜† Oh pls, no rule violations here, God knows I'm in enough trouble as it is. πŸ˜›

New perspectives? Ahh, why do I feel like you're going to disagree with me here? πŸ˜†

As long as everyone is mature and responsible, there should be no problems.
Let's make that the goal then. 😊

Will post my views eventually, although I had a lot to say in the previous topic. πŸ˜†
Looking forward to them. πŸ˜ƒ

1)->
Doesn't seem so but its difficult to define what is ethical and what is not !!

2)->
Right or wrong , who are we to decide in a case which a person other than us has adopted.
At the moment all i can say is that it would be wrong for me to do so .πŸ˜†
-> https://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b28/BOismymanJ/th_36_22_241.gif.......................................https://forum4.hkgolden.com/faces/donno.gif

3)->
Thats what actually came to my mind first when i saw this topic πŸ˜†
Is that (alleged) girl (now) interested in girls or boys ??
Is (alleged) she interested only in girls' other activities or this too ??πŸ˜ƒ

4)->
Tough to say ,
but it depends on the maturity of teenagers (and mental balance😊)
However if a rule were to be made for one and all,
i think the right shouldn't be given to the teenagers alone.
(I'd like to know the role of (alleged) her family in this operation)

5)->
It is a medical discovery which can become either of the other two things ,
depending upon the conditions imposed around it πŸ˜ƒ

Agar God ji se galti ho jaati to ,
itni saari bodies, itni saari souls, ek aadh idhar udhar ho gayi to ??πŸ˜†
Just kidding,
but i think that we didn't have to learn to accept that we are part of this gender.
It came naturally,
so if it doesn't come naturally to someone ,
kuch gadbad jaroor hai

By this logic don't we go against nature all the time !!
You will find so many occasions when you can say ,that we are going against nature,
but i think we just can't go against nature since we are a part of it ,
and we can only use the tools which nature provides us !!

In simpler terms,
suppose we talk about the life of early man,
when man had nothing but what nature had provided him with (no man made things)
After that ,
whatever discovery he used to make(man made objects),
can't we also classify it as going against nature,
after all nature hadn't provided us with those man made objects,

but nevertheless, nature had provided us with the tools to do the same,
hence those tools were meant for a purpose which man accomplished.

Either we just say ,
we are going against nature all the time ,
or we can say ,
we just can't go against nature

It is unethical on part of everyone involved in supporting this. As far as Teenagers responsibility?, I will take a pass on commenting on it πŸ˜‰ Wat a waste... <couldn't resist saying that lol>.
This is what happens people start exploiting freedom... only wish none of the other folks planning such an act gets encouraged.
BTW - Can also add a tangent... I am also not with folks going with all kind of sugeries when there is no natural deformity, specially teenagers...lols no offy...

I agree, surgeries that are used to "enhance" features are also quite unethical, but hey if Angelina Jolie's lips can look like that, then why stop the common woman? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

Teenagers ki kya rat laga ke bhaite ho? πŸ˜† Geez AnshuMAN, you act like you were never a teen. πŸ˜›πŸ˜† I don't agree that the teenager should be blamed here. What the heck were the parents doing when this kid decided to take such an action, and why has the government allowed an underage citizen to take such a step?

But in today's day and age, teenagers or not, many are acting immature. Some teens are more mature than some of these "adults" we have. So, of course one cannot generalize. But yes, parents should not let teens go and commit acts that they will regret later.

Well we can't stop anyone from doing anything, but we can express our opinion, so that's what we're doing here. Just because you can't stop someone, doesn't mean you can't disagree with them. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

Good question, I don't know. I'm guessing this "person" is attracted to boys. But whether boys are attracted to err ... "her?" is a different question. πŸ˜†

Hmm, yes, it would be nice to learn more about this case. But mental balance is something lacking in adults, forget teens. Does it make it any righter when adults decide to undergo such a transformation?

I don't think its ethical to change gender because you feel trapped in the wrong body. Its against nature. No because science allows things does not make it right. Not sure about gayism Q here lekhin its same thing because gay people they go against nature.
Operation is not a necessity and shouldn't be given to teens. I mean it needs to be thought about. Yes there are many people who feel better after sex change lekhin its just weird.
