LOL OK LETS HAVE SOME FUN NOW!! I've seen some REALLY REALLY old polls stating questions like "is indian tv really worth watching", "Is bollywood heading towards a bright future" etc etc....

so now lets debate on the issue of which entertainment industry is more appealing and acceptable to you?

I came to IF 4 years ago wen i was watching my fav soap Ye MERI LIFE HAI and I know im going to sound dumb for saying the fact that the hindi television industry to me is not really that appealing at all...i mean they all show the same old concepts of joint family, boy meets girl love stories and then later has another vamp or vamps n villian come in between n ends up breaking the couple by marrying them off to someone else...we have the reincarnations or 20 yrs leap,,,,,and now we have the trend of reality shows all over the channels Star has this new one Are Deewano, Great indian laughter..Sony has Comedy Circus...Indian Idol....Zee has SRGMP and then soon to launch Dance india dance..blah blah anywayyyyssssssss but yea honestly theres like NOTHING NEW @ all in this telly world...

Bollywood too has nothing new at all to offer..their sex scenes are waaay more immature than the ones handled in Hollywood (YES THIS IS TRUE!! the sex scene in Murder was waaay more immature and way too much camera work was done compare to the Hollywood version of the film UNFAITHFUL) Their latest flicks like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to me wasnt "khaas" at all...SRK's make up as the "Raj" character didn't cover up the fact HE'S AAGING AND IS NO LONGER THAT YOUNG HERO TYPE GUY 🤢 plus there was nothing new to the story @ all....the concept of 40+guy and a young girl was already shown in Cheeni Kum and Devdas (the Original novel and the film version of the 50's...not the SRK one ) Om Shanti Om's concept...YES I'VE SEEN THAT TOO IN BIMAL ROY'S MADHUMATI which was copied into the Star soap Pyaar Ke Do Naam
Songs like "Beedi jailai le" and "Dilli ki sardi" has like THE WORST lyrics ever lol seriously wat kinda song is this "BEEDI JAILAI LE JIGAR SE PIYA JIGAR MA BADI AAG HAI"?!?!?! 🤣 🤣 I was laughing the whole time and then the other song from Dostana "Desi Girl" okay the song was about A DESI GIRL right...so why the heck were white people dancing as extraz?!😕 😕 wats up with that?! aaj kaal when theres a huge dance...u see white folks dancing instead of desi dancers

OKKKK NOW HOLLYWOOD FILMS.......I'd say 50-50 again this time..... these days they are coming up with NOTHING BUT RE-MAKING FILMS THEY'VE MADE 20yrs ago🤔 but...some films are I'd say a little better than Bollywood....flcks like Marley and Me, Twilight, Curious Case of Benjamin.......,Valkirye and of course Titanic are quite well made...but again...when it comes to Hollywood horror these days.....they copy Japanese flicks like Grudge, The Ring, The Eye, and even they ruined Godzilla!😡😭

Amercian Television gets a 10/10 from me because they offer different varities....we have soaps, we have seasonal series primeres, than there's channels like Lifetime, Sci Fi, HBO that comes up with their own original films for the channel, and they also have educational channels like National Geographic, History Channel, History International, Animal Planet n stuff...😃😃😃 the shows don't stretch much and ends quicker like with 10-12 epoisodes per season and stops airing for a while and comes back again after 3-4 months unlike our desi shows which dragssss oooooooonnnnnn and oooooooooonnnnnnnnnn 😭

anyways.......I bored u to death lol so now u debate😃......................if u have the energy to wrtie back after reading my whoooooleeeeeeee list of bashing all the industries!😆

Err, what do you want to debate? Whether the sex scene from Murder was immature or not? Just kidding, didn't watch Murder. 😆 I got better things to do with my life.

Umm ... Indian soaps, been there done that. Soaps like Kusum, Kutumb, all those other K soaps have the same exact storyline at one point in time. Soaps like Yeh Meri Life Hai, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, and Dill Mill Gaye started off differently, were innovative, and then the thirst for money came along, wanting to stretch the shows until the end of time --- and there goes the story line.

Indian reality shows -- won't lie, still going through that phase. However, I think this is the last season that I'll be putting up with them. Lack of available talent is quite apparent now. We can't have good singers every time.

American Reality Shows --- they've become too repetitive, but yes the original ideas were quite creative. American Idol, America's Next Top Model, So You Think You Can Dance, etc.

American Television is a lot more diverse and has something for everyone. Some sitcoms are quite enjoyable --- Friends being a major example. Errm, and the different series also have very different story lines -- I watch Gossip Girl quite religiously, there's so many out there --- House, Heroes, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, etc.

Why does Youtube not have a category? I think the most acceptable form is Youtube. It is almost like having an "All of the Above"

Television, Mumbai. You know what is going to happen in the next episode, still the shows manage to get such high TRP's, does any other medium up there have such a solid grip on their audience?

I would go with Hollywood TV for a few reasons - they have a lot more variety and number of channels that something would be usually there to watch. Also the sitcoms on American TV doesnt usually follow a continuing storyline and so you can watch in between - in random and still would not miss the flow of following it.
The Mumbai TV has a lot of stupid serials with unreal storylines and their reality shows are full of dramas leaving the viewers frustrated!
When it comes to movies, both are so-so -- these days there are hardly many good movies made which makes you feel like watching on day one itself or even the first week itself!

So true. Mind bogglingly true.

Personally, I hate the Indian soaps. But I don't know what is worse the shows that churn out crap, or the people who consume crap like it is the best thing in the world.

I think any industry is acceptable. Its a personal choice. More appealing, I guess I would have to go for western TV. Xena: Warrior Princess and Law & Order: SVU are the best shows ever.

I like watching the re-runs of Friends, Sienfeld, Everyone Loves Raymond etc. I also like shows like CSI Miami, Without Trace and some late night shows like Jay Leno whenever I get a chance. I don't watch tv serials regularly though. This is why I am not into soaps where the story continues and builds upon the previous episodes. I am not into too much reality t.v. either. What ever reality t.v. shows I watch, they are limited to Indian channels.
I have one full season of Sex in The City but have been postponing watching it. It has been highly recommended by my gal pals though. I'll be catching it one of these days.
I guess IF sey fursat miley tab kuchh aur check karoon na😆

To tell you guys the truth, i love Indian Dramas, i watch almost all of them on Zee, and i am a guy too.😆
I think they are nice, especially if you have nothing else to do, the small funny things they do, and every few episodes there is a climax in which the good wins over the evil. It's more you get attached to the characters, even if the story becomes weak, i still watch the show for the charater like Saloni in Saat Phere, i think she is brilliant.
