I haven't watched any version, Ammu. For someone who loves Bollywood gossip, I watch few films. The only time I watched new releases with in couple of days, I guess are OSO and Saawariya. The hype was too much to ignore. Oh! I watched KNPH 1st day. đu watched KNPH on day 1??đ awesome! sadddd.. i ws in 8th standard then that time u dnt go out with frnds .. and my parents dont go for movies đĄđ.. so i saw it at home aftr a monthđ ahhh my hrithik đOther than that I watch films at my pace even if it is my Akshaye Khanna. The last I watched was Sorry Bhai. Not interested in RNBDJ or Ghajini. Both hyped..bored.
Ghajini .... My Review!
The scene where Aamir puts all his things ' guns, mobile, wallet into their proper places courtesy the notes and sleeps and gets up and walks into the bathroom clueless and sees the note of "open your shirt" and opens it and sees all his tattoos and burns in rage. This brought out the psychological and emotional state of Aamir.
The scene where Jiah Khan requests for a conversation with Aamir in the canteen. She jots down whatever Aamir says. Notice the irony out here ' what is the difference between Jiah and Aamir. He notes down on his body, and she on her notepad. Memory is unreliable.
The scene where Aamir has to witness Asin's brutal murder was heart wrenching. The audience drew a collective gasp when Asin gets killed.
The action sequence in the climax that is cheerful in its gratuitous violence and enjoyable too. And the chase he gives to the villain along a narrow path flanked by houses ' a labrynth - brings out the claustrophobic feel of the space - the way it mirrored the road to Ghajini that was built and broken thousand times in Sanjay's mind.
The crucial pre-climax sequence where Aamir Khan is lying in the hospital confused and lost after his life-saving tattoos and clues and pictures have been destroyed and the consequent Aamir's outburst.
Asin's compassionate nature is brought out through creatively written scenes. Watch her help the handicapped children enter the museum gate and then help a blind man walk to his stop all along informing of the happenings on the street.

^I agree. One action film that actually made me emotional at times. It was a complete entertainer....and not one of those where you have to leave your brains behind with slapstick OTT comedy...it is a good entertainer with the basic movie making ingredients in tact. Good film. 3 hrs went by and I didn't even realise it. Proper review coming up soon :-)
(I really thought I was gonna hate Ghajini!! đ)

Ghajini .... My Review!
Last Big film of 2008, expectations were high though I knew lots of things about the film after watching Memento and I still ended up loving the film a lot which shows that a hindi film inspired from English film doesnt mean the effect of Hindi film will lessen at all.
Plot :
Its story of Sanjay Singhania(Aamir Khan) whose girlfriend has been killed and he was hit very hard with a iron rod due to which he gets a short term loss memory in which he can remember things only for 15 mins after that he forgets evreything. Will Sanjay be able to get revenge of his girlfriend's death or Will his memory become a big hurdle in his search for Ghajini.
Pros :
Aamir Khan without a doubt, is flawless, every minute detailing in his scenes are visible, take the scene before kaise mujhe where he gives it extra time to make the emotions visible.Though Aamir was more lovable in the romantic part but he did full justice for the revenge part where you not only see him smashing people all around but roaring like a tiger also.
The expressions of Aamir Khan, he hardly has dialogues in the film, mostly his expressions and body movements does the talking.
Asin is completely at ease in her role, very confident and bringing lots of entertainment value in the film through her character, will give hard competition to anushka for debutant award for sure.
Climax is thrilling with few twists and turns though it isnt anything extraordinary so expectations shouldnt be too high.
Songs are brilliantly used with exception of Latoo. The Gujarish song is a treat for romantic lovers, with no major dance steps, the feel of romance is brought around so beautifully through the locations and simple expressions n hand movements of Aamir. And then watch how well 1st n 2nd antara are picturised during Behka song. Kaise Mujhe is romantic yet emotional at the same time.
Camerawork is very good, and also the opening credits though not too easy to see for light hearted people, the use of internal brain nerves shown during it.
The background score was very good.Cons :
Could had used some other main villain, the south feel came in the looks of the villain though performance wise he was quite good.
Jiah fails to impress except for 2 scenes, she was just average.
Latoo song was almost wasted, either it shouldnt had been used at all or it should had been properly used. The length of the film could have been decreased, although I never got bored at all but still as a viewer I believe its a touch long film, should have been 15 mins short. Some HighlightsThe scene where Aamir puts all his things ' guns, mobile, wallet into their proper places courtesy the notes and sleeps and gets up and walks into the bathroom clueless and sees the note of "open your shirt" and opens it and sees all his tattoos and burns in rage. This brought out the psychological and emotional state of Aamir.

And some beautiful nuggets like - Aamir trying to recognise Jiah by her rapid breathing after the chase. A robotic Sanjay beating up a bad guy in cyborg-ish style, Aamir visiting Asin's boss's party, the climax where Aamir for a moment forgets what he is fighting for when he comes face to face with Ghajini. The romantic track involving a tycoon-in-guise-of-common man and a model-in-guise-of-tycoon's girlfriend does not water down the impact of this action film. It has humour and sweetness. It is this portion that endears the film to the audience and lends the surrounding violence some poignancy and beauty and touches you. You feel the pain of Asin when Aamir informs that he will out of India for 10 days, you have a lump in the throat while watching the scene where Asin hands him money, you want Kalpana to know that Sanjay is indeed a rich businessman before she dies.
Given the unfortunate events, the violence is justified. Even family audiences and children won't mind it. What sets apart the action from the "Sunny Deol" Rajnikant" type is the total absence of dialogues and the smart camera work.
A R Rahman is in full form in Guzarish, Kaise Mujhe and Bekha. Prasoon Joshi's lyrics though are a bit of let down. Superb editing (Anthony), excellent cinematography (Ravi K Chandran) and tremendous sound (Resul) take the film to a higher level. Action by Peter Hains and Stunt Shiva keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Overall, Ghajini marks a excellent end to 2008 just like Taare Zameen Par did in 2007 with Aamir and Asin as the main show stealers.
Film Rating : 4.15 Out of 5 (0.30 extra for the emotional and romantic part of film)

Watched Ghajini today. I never thought I would love a violent film so much. Aamir Khan was so into the character. I haven't seen Tamil version so no comparisons, Aamir was BEST. He reminded me of Kamal Hasan in so many scenes and Kamal Hasan is one of the greatest actors India has ever seen. Kamal Hasan has 3 National Awards to his credit. It is high time Aamir Khan gets one. So many undeserving from Bollywood have gotten National Award in recent times.
