Lamhe is a composition by Goher lead guitarist for JAL
Atif was part of JAL before, but after his break up from the band he went solo and stole the songs aadat & Lamha!!
Atif Aslam doesn't deserve the credit for these songs as they are Goher who is part of JAL the Band!!!!
Jal is yet another hot import from Pakistan whose song 'Woh Lamhey' climbed up the charts when it featured on the soundtrack of Pooja Bhatt's Zeher.
The 3 member band who have just released their self-titled debut are MTV's Motoalert Artist of the Month.
Jal falls in the pop-rock genre who try and keep their melodies and lyrics as clean as possible. When asked why the band is called 'Jal' they say they have an intimate connection with water and to the rhythms of our lives-and how it is something to be celebrated, revered, and preserved for all times to come. Pretty deep huh?!
Jal was formed in Lahore in 2002 when Goher Mumtaz (vocalist/composer) wrote the first song 'Aadat'. He then began to look for like minded musicians to work with and met Shazi (aka Aamir) who played bass guitar. Their first song 'Aadat', was released on the internet through a local Pakistani web portal and it went on to become the most downloaded Pakistani song on the www.
Right now, thanks largely to "Woh Lamhey" the band is getting their well deserved moment in the limelight. Do catch Jal all this month MTV Motoalert.
