Here is what Happened?

1. Tanmay sang Rang de Basanti Chola. Anu ji said that he will give him one extra point for singing a patriotic song, but will cut marks for missing some surs.

👏👏I gotta hand it to Anu for this. I have been watching Music shows for over 10 years, I have not seen a single judge deduct points for missing sur in a patriotic song

2. While Kunal Kohli said this is not fair to other kids, and if this happens everyone will start singing patriotic songs and get good marks.
Kunal was being boneheaded here. Anu basically added a point and took it away, so basically left the score as is

3. Annu said he will give extra marks to everyone who sings patriotic songs from now on.
4. Kunal says that then he officially objects to this type of mark giving and judgment.
5. Then Anu says that you can't speak anything about this i have given my perspective and asks kunal why doesn't he say anything when the kids sing vulgar songs
7. Kunal says that he does, and objects them
8. Anu get's super angry and says iss cheez pe nahin bolne ka!!! three times and shuts Kunal. MUST WATCH
9. Kunal doesn't say anything and leaves the sets
10. The drama unfolds, Anu comes on the stage,starts screaming
11. Then anu comes on stage and sings a patriotic song, whose lyrics go something like be aware of the traitors within us. HE IS SO MAD, face is full of anger!

from 3-11, both were acting idiotic, both when two successful people fight on live TV and this looks unscripted, such things happen

Who do you think was right? ANU OR KUNAL

Both are right and both are wrong, I think Kunal was right in the stand he took, interestingly I had the same question about 3 years ago, when a contestant sang a patriotic, relatively easy song and won by a landslide eliminating my fav contestant who sang a soulful, difficult song easily

How Much Patriotism do you think is too Much? Did Anu Kapoor over react?

I think Annu totally overreacted. Kunal was stating a very valid point and doing so rationally and calmly. The judges are not supposed to give more or less points just because they like or dislike the song. They are supposed to judge the quality of singing. Even if Annu believes patriotic songs should be given extra points, he should have just agreed to disagree with Kunal instead of creating such a commotion over nothing.

I think there definitely is such thing as too much patriotism. There are certain values and virtues that should always hold precedence over national pride. For example, we should not forget about humanity and justice in the support of our nation. I consider myself patriotic (towards both India where my family is original from and towards the US where I was born and raised). However, if there is something inhumane or unjust being done by either of these countries against another country, community or person, I would speak out against it. I wouldn't just support my country blindly.
