I'm not the king but a slave: Aamir Khan
'Ghajini' has reportedly collected Rs 90 crores worldwide in the first weekend of its release. India Syndicate's Paarul Vats caught up with the Aamir 'King' Khan at the success party of 'Ghajini'.
Excerpts from the interview:
Q. Your comment on the success of 'Ghajini'.
I am an actor. My job is to entertain. I am more concerned with the creative part. The statistical part is taken care of by the production team. I am glad that people have loved my movie. An artist needs appreciation more than money. Creativity for an artist is of utmost importance than the material things.
Q. Does 'Ghajini' have an overdose of violence?
No. I haven't heard anyone telling me that till now! 'Ghajini' is an action movie. The action in the movie is justified.
Q. What is your take on the Tamil version of 'Ghajini'?
When I saw the movie, I was very impressed by Surya. It was Surya who convinced me to do the role. After talking to him, all my apprehensions were put to rest.
Q. Do you think Kalpana (played by Asin) should have known the truth about Sanjay Singhaniya (played by Aamir Khan) before she died?
Yes, but I think the suspense behind that particular feeling enhances the movie.
Q. How would you rate A R Murugadoss as a director?
Murugadoss is a very good director.
Q. Post the success of 'Ghajini', would you call yourself the king of Bollywood?
No. I'll not call myself a King, but a Ghulam...A Ghulam of my fans
