Like every year, we value the contributions of all those who excelled in their fields to strengthen the foundation of our society and helped build Brand India. They have toiled hard, thought ahead, dared to be different and redefined the meaning of being an Indian.

So, who do you think should become the NDTV Indian of the Year? Write in with your choice.

1. my indian of the year will be all those NSG commandos, police officers, n everyone else who fought with the terrorists for our safety... no words to express my feelings towards them..we owe them a lot..each one of them...

2. my second option will be the common man of india..all of us..who stood together n raised their voice against terrorism...united indians!!

3. n lastly if i have to pick a celebrity..it will be Sachin Tendulkar! for being a national idol for the past 20 years.... for inspiring a generation..n yes for bringing back some smile on our faces with that brilliant knock n win few days back!

Leader: All have failed us. I kept thinking and thinking and looked N-S-E-W and I was not able to find a single leader, we only have politicians.

Sports: As ManaliS said Sachin Tendulkar, for breaking Brian Lara's record and also for scoring those winning runs against England this Monday in Chennai and giving us something to cheer about in this troubled times. But, more than runs, he is the only one--other than the Indian army--who commands so much respect and love all across this country.

Would also like to add Abinav Bindra for giving us the first individual Olympic gold medal; Vijender Kumar and Sushil Kumar for ensuring that we do not come back again with only one medal.

Also, Vishwanathan Anand for winning the world chess championship.

Business: Ratan Tata. First for showing Mamta Banerjee her place and then during the Taj attack for standing strong and calm.

And again as ManaliS said NSG commandos, army men, policemen, the station announcer at the VT station, hotel staff, and more individuals that I cannot think of at this moment but have showed us how to value this country and our countrymen. These are our true leaders.

Leader - In a country of billions hard to find an eminent Leader. We Indians are only good at being followers.

Sports - All Olympic medal winners.

Cinema - Farhan Akhtar (Director, Actor, Singer), also Ashutosh Gawarikar for Jodha-Akbar, loved that movie

Business - Ratan tata for buying Jaguar and Land Rover, production of Nano.

Arts & Culture - Aravind Adiga for winning Booker Prize for his novel "White Tiger"

My indian of the year is the General manager of Taj Hotels... Karamvir Kang....who was so busy helping all the guests to escape from the terrorist attack....that he could not save his own family.... his wife and two children who lived with him in the hotel on the 6th floor died a grusome death...After this happened he was still at the hotel as he realized someone needed ot be in charge there at that time....

We need more people like him who do not make a big fuss about the work they do...and do not work only for publicity...

Leader:: Manmohan Singh/Pranab Mukherjee for winning the nuclear deal surmounting all odds./

Sports: Kris Srikanth for choosing the team that humiliated Australia.

Cinema: Priyamani for playing a consummate village belle in Paruthi veeran.

Business: Laxmi Mittal the steel magnate or Indira Nooyi She could be CEO of the year and put Indian business women on the world map

Arts and culture: Bimba the Art Hut, Bangalore for encouraging minority artisans.

Leader Narendra Modi, Clinched it with the effort he made for Nano

Sports Abhinav Bhindra , clinched it with the unique feat he performed in Olympics

Cinema : Pata nahi yaar have hardly watched any hindi movies this year

rest pata nahi not so much in tune

But honeslty I should put my name in, I can beat the best in Leadership in Culture, the best in sports in business, the best in cinema in arts and culture, the best in business in acting and the best in arts and culture in sports😆, I am the all rounder😉
