Minister doubts who killed ATS chief Karkare
As much as I dislike what Mr Antulay is hinting here, but given the background you know that thought went thru a lot of minds considering the investigation he was persuing and the reactions it was drawing
But this reaction is acceptable from some citizen, some leader, some MLA or some MP, but NOT from a Cabinet minister. This single statement of Mr Antulay has blown away all the credibility of all the work that the police are doing and are going to do. This statement has caused a major dent into the effort made by everyone against the terrorists. Totally unacceptable. If I had a choice of asking for a resignation of a minister between Shivraj Patil and AbdulRehman Antualy, It would be Antulay's by a large margin as much as I detested Shivraj Patil's performance. Completely unbecoming a minister. If he had doubts(and he is allowed to as I said earlier) he should have asked internally to do a inquiry. If he was not satisfied with the inquiry he should have raised the issue to the PM. Instead he has chosen to blow away the credibilty of this, any past and future investigations into terrorism issues. He shouldnt resign, he should be sacked for this
The fact that the Govt and the congress party is silent about this is pathetic. What that tells me is they want to do this natak of going after the terrorists, but they also want to keep their vote bank happy
