Abhishek refuses Yash Raj’s offer

It may sound impossible for actors to say no to Yash Raj Films but there are a few who give more importance to script and characters than the banner and our junior Bachchan is one of them. Recently he refused an offer for Yash Raj's forthcoming film which stars Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles.

Anurag Singh's untitled film revolves around a local cricket team. Interestingly Rani who plays a cricketer in the film, dresses up like a man and sports a turban too. Apparently the role which was offered to Abhishek was a small cameo. He was supposed to be a cricket player and had very few scenes. However Abhishek who was not keen to do a cameo gave an excuse of unavailability of dates.

According to our source at Yash Raj, he reveals that the real reason for his refusal is Abhishek is not keen to do a small role in any film especially after his recent debacle, Drona . Apart from that he had a bad experience when he did a special appearance in Pradeep Sarkar's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag . It failed to make it at the box office.

Now when Abhishek has refused to be part of it, they are planning to rope in another big star for the same role. They will require this character for their next schedule. Let's see who bags that role especially after all the negative publicity the film has been getting.

First it was rumoured that Rani is ghost directing the film as she is not confident of the directorial skills of the debutant Anurag Singh. And now we hear that Aditya Chopra has hit the panic button after he saw the rushes of the first schedule, and has cancelled all further shooting of this film. Wonder what lies ahead for the film?
