But I think Prachi was supposed to have better expressions of agony and a fake smile.. while Panchi Bora acted to be all smiles and no pain... which made it look like Prachi is happy at Dasguptas. I guess Panchi Bora couldn't carry it off well or the directors didn't bring it out well.

Yes you'r right the woman can't show pain and misery for nuts. I for one was very disappointed when Milind fell down the cliff her expressions were ridiculous. She conveniently faints at all times saving herself from giving ant expressions I thought Amna Sharif was a mediocre actress but Panchi far excels her in that. Atleast when Sujal fell into the river Amna acted superbly yahaan inko beyhosh honey sey hii fursat nahin thi. Or jab hosh aaya bhi to chehra blank.

I think Panchi has been brilliant in several scenes, and has most definitely improved by leaps over the last year! The Inder-death scene, Ayesha-death scene (ooh..she was the BEST, in my opinion! Traversed a gamut of expressions from shock to sorrow to determination to anger!), the court scene, the beach scene before the court scene, her scene with Neev when he learns the truth, and several more highlighted her immense potential
Agreed that her reaction to the fall was mediocre, but she was definitely very good while helplessly looking for him in the forest
I don't think these happy expressions are her fault at all; it is the script's demand, which she is delivering. Panchi is supposed to be happy for her friend's family, which is why she smiles a lot
Panchi's reaction to Proteek's proposal was well done, and I also loved her when she adds 'salt' to the soup or curry!

Kits I'm not hopelessly in love with her so yeah there's a difference in my view of her acting skills than yours. Yeah lets take Inder's death scene.... what did she do that was so spectacular? It was fine by my standards I think the Ayesha death scene was just too plain.... her reaction after that was brilliant in the van. But her initial reactions to Ayesha's corpse I'm sorry failed to move me. It's only when she's with Shabbir or Jay that the woman performs well I really cannot solve that mystery as to why and how that happens but that's how i see it. I guess she realizes she has competition when she works with them on her own she's not very convincing. When she's finding him in the forest agreed she did justice to it why couldn't she do the same when she came home from the cliff. Her scene in the bedroom failed to forget move even touch a chord. Normally a woman seeing her bedroom decked with bridal finery and knowing her husband fell down in a ravine would've gone stark raving mad what did she do? Lie on the bed and whimper..... I've seen better. The PIM scenes court beach whatever were fueled by Milind's performances too they complimented each other. A scene I liked very much on Prachi was before she went to the beach to find milind the recollection of michi moments on Do Pal song that was touching and heart wrenching she didn't speak but her actions said it all. Flashing full toothed smiles is not the end of the story there's a lot more to acting than that.
