I think u need to know that his own dad is very fond of drinking and partying.

its not about being fond of drinking, its that they like to party and no party is complete without drinks in their household ( this is for the entire family and friends), so this month they are abstaining from partying.

and moreover salman neither thinks of himself as a hindu or a muslim or a christian, for him religion is secondray and so is the belief of the ENTIRE FAMILY.
