I don't agree with this view that a woman has to have an identity that is either based on her father or her husband. A woman has her own identity. Ayesha is Ayesha no matter whether she is/was Neev's wife or Inder's daughter.
All I was trying to emphasise by this post is the inconsistency in the story which the creatives are famous for. This is just another instance. There is no way they can claim that the rest of the family including Prachi were not aware of Neev and Ayesha's divorce. I remember clearly Ayesha herself explaining that they are divorced to the rest of the family when Dadi raised the issue as to how a married woman can marry Milsi during the PA track. I think the reason why they showed Prachi putting the maang in her sindoor is to show her fulfilling Ayesha's wish to be Milsi's wife because the flash backs were to Ayesha's demands that Prachi deck her up as a bride. That is why I am happy Milsi was locked up in the prison so that he could not have lit the pyre. While there is nothing wrong is his lighting the pyre, they will give another meaning to the whole thing. I think Alaap should have done it considering that he is her brother, the next of kin.
