The show was intended to last only 10 episodes. It cost Sony 2 years to make even these because the process of selection, surgery and recovery took a very long time. It is a natural process that cannot be speeded up. Although we all miss the show, it was not possible to continue it indefinitely.

But we can surely request Sony to take on more cases and do a second season in due course. You can go to the Setindia site www.setindia.com to post your feedback.
