Imraan steps into Ranbir's shoes

With Abbas Tyrewala's Jaane Tu ... Ya Jaane Na , the fresh maal Imran Khan has managed to impress one and all. But one man who is totally in awe of this young actor is none other than Aamir Khan. And we have a reason for believing this! Aamir is all set with his next production Delly Belly and plans to rope in Imran Khan to play the lead.

Delly Belly will be the fourth film under Aamir Khan Productions and will be directed by an ad filmmaker Abhinay Deo. A unit hand at the production house says, "Aamir Khan was desperately in search of a leading man for Delly Belly since the time Ranbir delayed and finally refused to be a part of it. Ranbir was verbally committed to Aamir but never signed it officially. Hence due to date problems Ranbir had to let go of Aamir's offer. Although Aamir was considering very few actors to play the lead, his nephew Imran was on his mind all along."

We all know that the perfectionist Aamir will not go ahead with his plans unless he is completely satisfied. As far as the casting of his film is concerned, Aamir is very selective but was confident about Imran. Before putting anything on paper, he wanted to wait and see the audience's reaction. Now when Imran has managed to connect with the youth, Aamir wants to cash on his popularity, informed the unit hand.

Aamir has a habit of keeping his projects under wraps and then surprising everyone with an official announcement out of the blue! It is believed that Aamir is keen to sign Imran but when contacted, Imran Khan denied the entire plan calling it a rumor. Imran replied to Indiatimes through a SMS that read, "I am not part of it."

An insider informs that Imran's not being an established actor does not bother Aamir and he feels the young lad will suit the lead role best for the sex comedy.
We are sure that the one-film-old actor who played a simple college boy in his debut movie will definitely be a delight to watch in the sex comedy. Apart from Imran, Mamu Aamir will also do a cameo.

With the lead actor in place, Aamir has now to zero upon the leading lady. Apparently, Chitrangada Singh was approached for playing the female lead but she refused the offer after having a check on the role.

The shooting for Delly Belly begins in September and is scheduled to be completed in one long schedule in Delhi.
