| | | I'm loving it: Malaika Arora Khan | The performance that will be aired tonight was the most demanding round I've ever judged. We had ten performances, with each person dancing solo — it was quite a cracker of an episode! Aaj ka aadmi
I was blown away by some of the stuff that was put up by the couples. Most people think women are blessed with twinkle toes, a gamut of expressions and an inherent talent.
That myth is completely blown away after this episode. The male performances stunned me…. I wasn't prepared to see them dance so well! Competition gets ugly
On the sets, the undercurrent of tension has risen a few notches. Everybody continuously questions why the judges have given points to a particular couple, and how they can better it.
The change is most visible, as the actors have all dropped their — 'we're here to have a good time' or 'we're all friends' — attitude. The hunger to win, the desire to put their best performance is very evident. Shilpa and Apoorva's knockout has shaken them all. They are all so stressed about who is going to be out next. They know now, that everything depends on the audience, and that it could be them next.
Vote now
As judges, we have done our bit. Now it's time for you to stand up and take your favourite contestant to the final round. Trust me, they need your vote, every bit as they need our marks! Even I don't have any favourites anymore.
Given that these couples have begun putting in even longer hours of practice after their busy work schedules and commitments, all I can say is — hats off. Coming this far without making a fool of themselves on stage, is a big deal and I can tell you as a dancer, being busy with other commitments, it's not an easy task. My own performance
The show has begun to reach a crescendo. Even before my dance on Chamma Chamma was over, my phone was buzzing with compliments. My entire family sat around me and watched me perform. I was quite nervous about how it would turn out.
But I found my answer when I went out for dinner later that evening. I was asked by a family dining there — 'Malaika, who do you think will win the title?' When I said I really didn't know — their reply completely floored me… they said, 'No matter who wins or loses — you are the winner as far as we are concerned!' It was very touching… Winner kaun? But the family isn't alone in asking about who I think will win the show. Friends call around pack up time to find out who got voted out. The hysteria and the buzz around the show is fabulous and I am just glad to be a part of it all. I don't want it to end at all…. And even if it does, I hope we are back with Season 2 soon!
